I tried this with my wife, couldn't get it to focus. It kept saying to get closer. It started working when I was above her knees.

I have just one question regarding the Portrait Mode, Does it work with full body pics?...Would be very practical for me as a fashion blogger...not always carry the camera with me.

This is what im referring to:

Please if someone with the 10.1 beta can shoot something like that or just saying it can be done I would appreciate it. Thanks!!

Has anyone (or can anyone) upload some dng files to play around with? I'd like to see what kind of detail I can pull from iphone 7 images. Most of the ones I'm seeing are way over done in the noise reduction department. I'd like to see if I can turn it down.

If you're shooting in DNG most likely there's zero noise reduction because the file is coming directly from the sensor without going through the ISP.

This picture was taken in DNG format using Lightroom and edited in Lightroom and Snapseed. I did not apply any noise reduction and therefore if you zoom in you can see there's barely any noise reduction, if any at all.

Your lawn was seriously that color green when you took this? And the shrubs behind the car on the right.... that florescent green? This is why I'm having big issues with this camera. Color accuracy.
Processed with Snapseed and pushed the situation a bit. Photo was taken very close to sundown with just a little after-light in the sky. Overcast/cloudy conditions. Photos straight from camera with decent lighting almost always produces accurate colors.

I don't have much problems with most colours except red. My red always turns out to be more pinkish on the 7 Plus. My 6s Plus was much more accurate with reds.

The trees look very grey--as if they were photographed using B/W, and composited in. The basketball hoop also looks desaturated, but I suppose I'm looking for that flash of orange that may not actually be there,

Then something is wrong with mine because nothing for me is coming out 'real'. Even took a pic of my dog on the 'fake grass' and her entire head was white (overexposed). It's not just green either.

I have a TerraCotta pot outside. Photos of it are very off. A patio with old granite bricks has a slight almost purple vibe. With the phone it's just grey. Tree trunks/bark - off. Variegated yellow/green hosta looks more melded together than distinctly yellow. It put 'tan' or brownish tones in my dog's head where there is none LOL

Any samples that we can see?

Thanks, I'd love to see more if you have any. Maybe some people (more in frame I mean) and/or low light situations.

Anyway, this definitely looks better than the smear fest I see in a lot of iphone photos as of late. Though its weird the people seem to be partially in black and white.

Edit: ok, reading up a few posts now I'm intrigued about this black and white issue, as it looks like this isn't just an isolated indecent....

Why is this happening? I could see it if the iso were being pushed but these are in broad daylight.

Still waiting on my 7 Plus but at least these photos are making it worse!

Seriously. I'm blown away with the quality of images coming off of those cameras. I come from a film background and have been shooting digital since the late 90s. The idea that images this good would come out of a camera barely bigger than a pencil eraser is mind boggling. I mean, it isn't going to replace my Fuji and Nikon gear but it sure as heck will mean that I never buy another point and shoot. These images put what the 6s Plus is capable of to shame.

I noticed the b&w humans on the left too. And I'm wondering if it's due to the filter I applied in Snapseed. I can't be certain.

I decided to download Cortex and give it a go real quick. From my initial observations and in comparison to the stock camera app I noticed that Cortex appears to zoom in a small fraction when taking the picture. Images seemed to be a little more full or vibrant in color, but less sharp as the stock camera app? That two second "freeze for cheese" will definitely take some getting used to and the use of my tripod. I'm sure with more use I will adjust though. I like it and looking forward to the update mentioned.

I was going to say the same - shots looks quite plastic with cortex. It seems to work well in low light environments and adding more details to objects in a long distance (details and dynamics (hdr)) but loosing alot details in a front area making them look plastic (abit like too heavy noise reducing). Stacking photos will certainly help in landscapes and dark areas, but objects near and in a light... not sure about that.

Here's some pics I found that do something similar. If you scroll all the way to the bottom the last pic has the full body of the guy but he's crouched.

They look plasticy because the app puts each photo up to 27.4mp! If you resize the image to a 20mp, they look great! There is an updated version of cortex now, you can adjust the ISO and light/shutter.i use cortex during the day all the time for landscape shots if I want an bigger clean photo. I'll then resize using the big photo app to about 20mp. The plastic look comes form the app interpolation from 12mp to 27.4mp.
