My1stApple,

If you are using the stock Apple Camera app on your 7+ there isn't anything you need to do. You should find the Portrait mode button just to the right of the photo mode. When the app comes up it normally is in the Photo mode and the Portrait mode button is just to the right of this.

If you don't see this then you are either trying to use another app than the Stock Apple camera app, or you don't have an iPhone 7+.

Good luck!

Not too bad for an iPhone camera.

ToddH,
I really like your photo, but I think I like the b/w version more. The fact that he has a DSLR in the photo is neat also.

Thanks! I prefer the B&W also. I was at a historical dedication yesterday and many were taking photos.

Hello. I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I've been waiting to use the portrait mode on my iphone 7+ since I got it, but I don't have the option on my camera. Is there something I need to do? I really appreciate your help. By the way, your pictures are great!

Are these edited or taken with a 3rd party app? Or just perfect lighting?

I had an overcast day, cloudy days are best for portraits because the light is flat and even. I took these with my 7 plus in portrait mode and processed them in Snapseed. I did have some trees around me, so I didn't have just a wide open sky. I think they may have come out somewhat brighter or more evenly lit if I did have more light.

Any other questions?
