Quite surprised I got a total dud! Camera lens was scratched! Front glass over the screen didn't quite fit leaving a very noticeable notch along the right side and activation kept failing. Luckily I'm near a T-Mobile store and they had plenty in stock. Switched from the black to the white and absolutely love it. There's a reason Apple didn't advertise the black or give it out to reviewers, it just looks like a 7 with a glossy cover over it. Matte Black will go down as the better looking phone and this white is beautiful! Reminds me of my iPhone4 days and really stands out.

Very surprised QC let my first one out the door, but it wasn't a sweat to swap it out and I am really enjoying my replacement now :D

Don’t agree that the space grey 8/8+ looks like the 7, it looks nothing like it. It actually looks much better.

I upgraded to the 8+ 256Gb SG from a 6S+ 128Gb SG.
Although the design is pretty much the same, I see big improvments everywhere.
The phone feels much faster, the speakers are way louder, camera is excellent.
I like the true tone display and the wireless charging.
Battery life is amazing; there is no comparison to my 2 year old 6S+.

Everything you said. I upgraded from a 6S. So happy, happy, happy with my new 8+. Plenty of "innovation" in it for me, by the way—it is just an excellent experience, in every aspect and excellence is what I'm after.

I concur, I would rather have bezels than that hideous notch. Love my 8+, will hold on to it until Apple designs a real edge to edge display.

I just picked up the iPhone 8 plus 64gb full price at apple store.

It’s a “meh” purchase for me. Not exactly excited.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s a nice phone. I have purchased iPhone 2007 to iPhone 2015. Every year. Just not super excited about iPhones anyone. I have purchased all androids as well including first G1 to almost all the nexus and galaxy phones. I’m just a phone Junkie. May pick up a pixel 2 if Verizon has a deal around thanksgiving time.

Skipped the iPhone 2016 model. First iPhone I ever skipped. My plan is to order or attempt to order iPhone x next Friday morning at 3am eastern time. If it’s a big back order till I will just keep the iPhone 8 plus.

If I can get November 3 delivery date. I will return the iPhone 8 plus I just got today.

This is also the first base GB iPhone I have ever gotten. Usually get the mid GB or higher iPhone model

Just don’t feel the need for 256gb storage and the $150 appple fee.

Overall. The 8 plus is solid phone. Nothing special. Speakers are loud. Display is nicer than my wife iPhone 7 Plus. It’s subtle. But i can tell.

Hey since you're reading minds did you get this when you read mine?
"FINALLY a new design! I've waited sooo long for Apple to....wait, does the content actually go past the notch? Is that letterboxing in landscape mode? Is the screen really a stretched out 4.7" iPhone? Does tap to zoom crop video and actually hide it behind that...notch? So tall of a screen that it's not a one handed device annnnnd no more reachability? Untested face ID? I have to stretttttttttch to reach the Notification Center drop down? No worries, reachability. Oh wait.
Hold up, this dated 8+ still has a nice wide screen. It has the same internals as the X. It doesn't hide content. It's native resolution allows video to fill my entire screen. It, it, it meets all of my preferences. But, who will know I have the new phone???? It looks the same as the last 3 but does everything better, yet no one will know I have the new phone!!! Wait, weird, it's like I don't care? Like, I don't justify my self worth by my phone? I don't need 'attention'? Will they know I had the money to buy an X for me entire extended family but simply chose the 8+? I don't care about that either? Shoot. Guess I'll just have to enjoy this phone I chose because to me, it's the best option. How boring"
[doublepost=1508502235][/doublepost]That is exactly the thought process of people. Unfortunately, Apple is becoming more and more a Marketing company, rather than a Software company. More and more, this is about the looks, the “exclusivity”, the prestige even, and less about the functionality. The iPhone X is a User Interface nightmare. I was really interested in it, because of the leaks. I saved money and was ready to sell my old 6s, but after seeing the way it works, it just didn’t make sense to me. The price is not justified, and people who will get it, will do so mostly and more importantly, because they think it will change their lives, somehow it will make them more popular, or whatever. The truth is that it’ll only show the tools they are, hoping to fill the emptiness in their lives with that phone.

My wife returned hers and went back to the SE. The main reason was the cost/benefit. Just didn't feel there was enough of a bump in specs or features.

I use a very minimal case really to give it more grip than anything and a glass screen protector on the front. I am very happy with that setup. It also gives me piece of mind if nothing else. I've had mine setup like this since the first day I got it on release day. I am totally happy with performance and upgraded from a 6 plus.

What minimal case do you use? I don't want to use plastic cases, because I'm afraid I'll scratch the glass

Hey, just wondering, what case are you using for the phone?

Hey, just wondering, what case are you using for the phone?

Spigen Liquid Air Armor iPhone 8 Plus Case which I purchased from Amazon. It is made from TPU and it's soft so you don't have to worry about it scratching. I've taken mine off to clean it several times and it hasn't scratched it at all. It minimal protection though, but I wanted it more for the grip as I said.

Its great. A worth upgrade from 6s to 8+. Anyhow had some issues with it. Did anyone or anybody here encountered the attached image? Can i still return this and be replaced? Its been in the box for 3 days after purchase. Didn't noticed it until this day btw. Thank you.

Just bought a product red iPhone 8 plus, and i boot up the phone, it shows up a white line, every time in random places, just for a millisecond, then it seems to get normal. I saw many people with my same problem. What is this?? Is it a software or hardware problem?

Really?
