Not sure if this has been posted or not, but. I noticed that the wireless signal is a bit crappy now comparing to what it has been before. Now, I would be lucky to get "2 ticks" rather than a full signal. My wireless router is like no less than 10 feet away from me. My MacBook gets a full signal, so why can't the touch get the same? Also, when I am at work normally I get "2 ticks" now I get "1 tick" to none... Did Apple murder the Airport drivers or something?

Searching notes seems to be buggy. My wife copied down 70-80 of her recipes to the notes section on the iPod and called them all "Recipe.some name here".

Searching for "Recipe" always only returns the first 11, no matter what. Doesn't matter if you search from Spotlight or the built in Notes search.

Work around is to search for a more detailed string, but still, finding 11/70 results is pretty sad.

Now this is weird...

Try this:-

Goto google.com in safari. Landscape/portrait doesn't matter. Now try 2-finger pinch zooming. Does it work?

It doesn't work for me, but it sure works for other sites!~

Select "classic" mode and it works fine. Facebook mobile is also non pinchable. Based on that, I assume that all mobile web apps aren't zoomable because they force resize to the device screen size.

Found another. Dont know if its a bug or a purposeful change. You cant change the volume on the lockscreen without bringing up the ipod controls. Would like somebody to check this though.

I've got the same problem. I find it very annoying.

Same here, I've got a AV cable that worked before but now I've upgraded to 3.0 I get a "This accessory is not supported by this ipod" message

yep, same message i got.

lame. they better come out with a quick fix, this is bs.

Yeah, now my iPod touch 2nd gen is incompatible with my iHome ip9 after upgrading to 3.0. soooooo pissed right now. WTF. can't control it, playlist feature of the alarm clock doesn't work. waste of 10 bucks so far.

Interestingly, I have an iH9 that works just fine with 3.0.

I've already paid for and downloaded the 3.0 update, but now after reading this thread, i'm extremely leery about subjecting my 1G Touch to the possible network-free* world of this new software. In your opinions, is it safe to try updating? Perhaps we could compile serial numbers to find out if there's reasons why some are affected while others aren't?

I really want the arabic support, but it's rather useless without networking.

*ahh, network-free ipod touch. You know, Apple, you could market this as a "feature." Just sayin'.

Well, my restore fixed my battery draining issue..God knows why that happened. Now though I just can't get any forecasts to appear on the weather app! Oh well, early adopters and all that! ;)

3.0 broke video output for a cable that came with an external projector. It worked perfectly before with both Youtube videos and movies I had on my Touch. I suggest a class action suit.

Safari bookmark to "home screen" doesn't work

i bookmark a web page and create a bookmark on the home screen.
When i click on the created icon on the home screen, it doesn't launch.

All my previously saved bookmark/icons on the home screen that used to launch safari no longer work either.

Safari: You can't rotate the device when in the Bookmarks menu.
Push Notifications: when on home screen, and there is a notification, it doesn't always open the application.
YouTube: Doesn't correctly sync with the website after watching a video from a subscribed channel (causing people like me to watch things twice. Once on iPod, once on Mac.)

ever since going to 3.0, I have been having so many problems downloading app updates on my ipod touch. I keep getting the message that I entered my iTunes password wrong and to enter it again. But i'm typing it correctly. When I sync to itunes, and try again, it works. But leave the wireless network and come back, the error happens again.

is this happening to anyone else? It is getting rather annoying that I try to download app updates or new apps and I can't because it says I entered the password wrong

My biggest issue is that my battery drains like there's no tomorrow. Im gonna try restoring it today and see if that fixes the problem. Other than that I love 3.0; specially now that I can log in to my youtube account and read comments right from the youtube app.

Thank You for all the responses. I am working on an updated list for this thread. It should be posted sometime tonight. I will also be talking about 3.0.1, which should be released sometime next week. This thread may also be moved to a more central location, but I will keep you all posted.

Serious Ones U:

Okay, in spotlight search, If you look up a certain word that is in your email, it looks for it. Like it should right? But I noticed the other day that it brings up old and deleted emails. Thinking maybe i didn't really delete these emails, i went into mail and decided to check it out. There was NOTHING in my email account, not in the inbox, sent, or trash boxes. IDON'TLIKEITPLZ.

Also, shake to shuffle seems a little... too much of an after thought. There are times when it's way too sensitive and others where you have to practically throw it for it to work. (Yes, I know that a song must be playing for it to work.)

Also, minor concern but me being about aesthetics, I've noticed that music videos began appearing in my cover flow. In any 2.x.x firmware, they did not appear if they were labeled without an album name. In 3.0 however, they appear no matter what. -twitch-

Also, whenever earphones are plugged out of a first gen iPod touch, it says "Dock Connected" which it obviously isn't. Of course, this has been mentioned before, but i had to bring it up again... it looks cheesy ._.

The original post has been updated.
The thread has been moved to iPhone
The thread is now a sticky
The thread name has changed
There should be no mention of jailbreaking in this entire thread

Has anyone experienced problems with AIM? I'm using the free AIM app, after upgrading to 3.0, the text box no longer appears when I compose an IM, but if I type one out and send it, I see the message and confirmation that it was sent. Also, after upgrading I don't get responses to SMS messages (tested it at home with my wife).

I'm wondering if it's just mine, the AIM Free app, or AIM in general.

I added your problem to the list. Remember to read the first post of this thread for problems/details on posting.:D

This happened to me too, although I have the paid version. To get the text box back I just tapped to make the message window full screen and the tap again to go back and then it appears. Also, I am getting some serious lag when either I or the other person sends a message. It's just for a second.

2- Sync Notes further resolution

2. The "Sync Notes" feature in iTunes is not working yet:
RESOLUTION- Plug in your iPod, go to "Info" tab and select "Sync Notes". Then, quickly hit "Apply" and quickly select another tab at the top (ie- Music). Let it sync. Then open your default mail client and your notes should be under the "Notes" section of the application.

The above resolution did not work for me (many attempts). What did work was a solution found elsewhere, rebooting both the Mac and the Touch, and then re-syncing.

ereader not working

I can't get the ereader app. to work now that I have the 3.0
Its stuck on the last book I was reading. Anyone else having problems returning to the list of your ebooks?

OS 3.0 Bugs

I've been trying to look for a thread where people could post all the bugs that they were experiencing with 3.0, but did not find one.

I've found a few, and they're quite annoying. All of the bugs I've found have resided in the iPod app.

Just as an additional note, I have a jailbroken and unlocked iPhone 2g.

• When playing music on the iPhone, when I skip through songs, the current one will fade out. On my friend's 3GS this doesn't happen. I find the fade to be very annoying. Wish there was a way to turn it off.
• When playing music on the iPhone, if I tap the volume slider at all, the current song will pause.
• If I hit the pause button while a song is playing, the song will pause for a second and then play again instantly.
• Occasionally when if I skip a song or when the next song comes on, the music will stop playing, the controls tell me the song is playing (the pause button is up) but the time on the timeline will stay at 00:00. Can only be played once you hit the pause button and then the play button again.
• If I'm playing a song and go back to the music list, the song will pause.
• If I'm playing a song and exit the iPod app and go to a different app, the song will pause.
• If a song is playing and I try to hit back to get to the previous song, the song will pause instead.
• Also, the text for the song, artist and album don't correctly fit.

Just this short list as I can remember right now. As you can see, this inherently effects the usability of the phone. Are they any others experiencing the same problems as myself?

Just tried it on my 3g and I have none of those problems.
