I can confirm that Teams is working now - however, each time that Microsoft issues a Teams app update, you have to follow the process to unsign the app or else Webcam+ support is broken.

Well, I haven't actually had a Zoom meeting with it…just got it working in the Zoom preferences. Zoom crashes on quit when I have Webcam+ running or even after I've quit both the Mac app and the iOS app. Also, if I quit both Webcam+ apps and then switch the camera in Zoom to something else the Zoom app still crashes on quit.

Zoom works fine after starting it up again.
Hi again, I am having issues reproducing the crash. If it happens for you again, and if you have time, you could go into finder and navigate to ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports and see if you can find a crash log file there for zoom. If available it should be called "Zoom_..._.crash" or "caphost_..._.crash".

If you send that file to me then I should be able to see where the crash originates from and that should help me out a lot with troubleshooting.

However, I totally understand if you don't have time!

Yes, I know, it is very unfortunate. The best we can hope for is that Microsoft adds support for software webcams in the future.

I have an old SE that can be used as webcam(?) but run an M1 Mac mini.
Ignorant coding/links etc. Willl your software work with these bits of kit?

The app should work fine on an iPhone SE (Gen 1) as long as you are running at least iOS 12 on it. I use an iPhone SE myself for testing, however, I can't say that the camera is that great unless you have good lighting. Also, keep in mind that the front camera on that model is limited to 720p.

As to the M1 Mac mini, I have not tested it myself, but I have had several beta testers who have reported that it works fine.

I think the most important thing for you to find out is if your Video Mac App supports webcam plugins or not.

I am still accepting beta testers, or you can wait until public release later on.

Is there really no way to make it work within FaceTime? I use FaceTime everyday, multiple times and I use my MacBook in clamshell mode. So I have to open the lid everytime I get a call to make use of that bad webcam. :(
I'm confused why you don't just take the call on your phone or is that phone not connected to wifi? I only thought of that while typing but will ask anyway :)

I may have discovered the issue here as Zoom doesn't seem to be crashing now. I had the EpocCam plugin installed, also, and it seems removing all the EpocCam stuff from my system may have fixed the crash. I didn't check Zoom with EpocCam for crashing before I installed your Webcam+.

If this is the case…sorry for sending on a wild goose chase!

I totally gave up my iPhone for a dumbphone exactly one year ago. It only can call and text. Will never look back again. ;)

No problem! I'm glad you figured it out.

Any News on my Streamyard Problem ?
Actually I tried Streamyard and set up a Live stream to YouTube without any issues. The only thing I had to do was that after the stream was created I had to press a button to "add" the camera input to the stream, but other than that it worked fine.

Basically there was a message "You are not part of the stream yet. Click to add your audio and video.". If I did not do that then the stream was black. Did you do this?

I used the Microsoft Edge browser with streamyard.

Other than that I am not sure what the issue might be.

wird Works here. Is a MbookPro 2012 too old? catalina is the OS

Do you still take beta testers? Friends of mine haven't received invitations yet

I have a 2010 desktop Mac with Catalina and it works, so your 2012 MBP should be fine, but I can not know for certain.

I have sent invites to everyone who has applied. Your friends should have gotten the invite already.

In TestFlight the latest version is currently 0.1.3, but 0.1.5 is submitted so it should be released within a day. They will automatically get another email when the new version is available. If they still can't get it working with 0.1.5 then message me their emails (in a private message) and I can check the invite again.

I can't seem to get it to work with Skype 8.67. I'm on a Mac Mini M1 11.1. Webcam+ 0.1.5 beta for both Mac app and IOS.

Webcam+ app is running and connected to my iPhone X but there're no cameras detected in Skype. Has anyone used it with Skype successfully?

Sorry, should have RTFM first. I see in the docs that Skype does not support camera plugins. Any way around this?

Next I tried FaceTime by duplicating FaceTime.app but I don't have a Camera option in the menu, only Microphone and Output.

Is there any chance to connect iphone to mac through wifi or bluetooth?
Well I have mentioned previously that I have in fact been working on WiFi support, but I have not released it yet since it is not ready. Bluetooth is not possible due to data rate limitation.

My plan is currently to get a stable "basic" version released officially on the App Store as soon as possible. Then, after that, I will start beta testing of additional features. I also have started working on Color Adjustments, Video Effects, Autofocus lock, etc...

Ye, I honestly don't know about FaceTime at the moment. The copy trick used to work, but now it does not, so I'm not sure what happened. However, I am really not going to spend too much time troubleshooting an unsupported app.

Same goes for Skype. It is not supposed to work, but just like with Microsoft Teams, you can get it working by removing the code signature from the executables. I downloaded 8.67 now and got it working by running the following commands:

sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Skype.app/Contents/MacOS/Skype"

sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Skype.app/Contents/Frameworks/Skype Helper.app/Contents/MacOS/Skype Helper"

sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Skype.app/Contents/Frameworks/Skype Helper (Plugin).app/Contents/MacOS/Skype Helper (Plugin)"

sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Skype.app/Contents/Frameworks/Skype Helper (Renderer).app/Contents/MacOS/Skype Helper (Renderer)"

sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Skype.app/Contents/Frameworks/Skype Helper (GPU).app/Contents/MacOS/Skype Helper (GPU)"

However, I must say that I do not recommend doing this as it will stop working again the next time you update Skype. Also, it may have other security implications since you are basically running an "unverified" app.

Very happy to find this app. I have a couple of questions though:

Just tried with iPhone Xr and my Macbook. Picture quality is fantastic, but the image top to bottom is very slightly compressed (makes faces look rounder). Is there a way to correct the image?

Also, my main issue is that I can't get it to be recognized by StreamYard (which is the service I need to use it with). Is there a way to do this?

I'm glad you found my app!

1) The compression issue that you talk about is not something that I have seen before. Do you experience the same issue if you switch to a different camera lens? Also, If you try to a different resolution, does it appear the same? I'll try my best to help you troubleshoot, but it may be difficult to solve if I can't reproduce it myself.

2) I ran StreamYard right now and, like @tosbsas said, it works fine. Make sure that you are using a compatible web browser, like Chrome or Edge, and (if you have not yet done so) reboot the web browser once after installation. One small thing regarding StreamYard is that once you are in the studio view you also have to select the webcam input and add the input to the stream.
