iPhone Bugs

iPhone address book Fantasia multiplying address's

Like the Disney movie Fantasia my address book is multiplying 100's of copies of most of the address's. The address books on my iPhone & iPad are impossible to use because they have maybe 10,000 address's. I reported it to Apple who told me to sync the iPhone, & on the info page for the device on iTunes, tick the sync address book at the top, & tick the box at the bottom saying replace the address book on iPhone with one from computer just this time.
This does not work as I have done it several times. All it means is that I loose all my home screen bookmarks & music, which is a pain. Option 2...If I restore the iPhone I loose all my address's that total about 800 without duplicates, which would be just too tedious to retype in. The address book on the computer is fine because it has the option to delete duplicates.
I have several Macs, {Desktops at home & work, Laptop, 2 ipads & 2 iphones including the wife's} all synchronising Calendars, Mail, Bookmarks nicely using .Mac. It is just the address book that has gone beserk. Can anyone help. Thanks Kent
 
That ir i Had it with this crap iphone change the name to iCRAP

after exactly a year Since got it when lunched iPhone 4 i am getting rid of this junk of a phone every single call drops even after micro cell add , have to restore ounce month at-list!!!

and today woke up to find out all my contact are gone !!!!!!
the numbers are there but with no name attached

i hate this device more than i ever hated anything in my life ****** you apple and i hope u share keep drooping like a rock

apple is very good of making a Hype but actually maintaining quality and something that useful is so far from reality!!!



I AM FINLAY DONE WITH THIS USELESS PAPER WEIGHT DEVICE !!!!!
 
The bug allegedly only affected single alarms set for either January 1 or January 2. According to Apple ... the bug would ... go away on its own come January 3.

Keyboard disappearing on iPhone4

For about the last week, frequently, when I am in an APP that uses the internet, the keyboard initially pops up to use but within 2 seconds it disappears and when I touch the text area to bring it back up it repeats the same action.

Phantom photos...

I haven't seen anything written about this but, when I go to the camera roll and tap a thumbnail or sometimes when I'm scrolling through them then an old deleted photo behind the real one for a slit second then disappears and it's normal. I used to just see a strip above the real one but when I downloaded a small image that wasn't a rectangle and I saw an entire deleted photo appear behind it for a second. How is it reviving them? Shouldn't it just overwrite them not overlap? And after adding and deleting some to try to overwrite it and it was added to the pile so there where two photos behind it for a split second. This is the most bizarre thing I've seen it do.
 
Notifications

I have issues with the Home Screen display after setting notifications for messages, calendar, mail and phone:

1. Messages/mail/phone: No number indicator on the icon. I didn't know that I had a missed/unread text/call/mail until I opened the App or viewed through Notifications

2. I sync to 4 calendars via Google Calendars. I only choose to display 2of4 when I access the Calendar App, I must check off the other two when I want to see those appointments, which is how i want it. However; within notifications, I see calendar items for all 4 calendars. How do I see only what appointments, for the calendars I've chosen to display, notifications?

iphone battery life

For some unknown reason my battery on my new iphone 4s eats up the life. I have made 15-20 calls all day, a few texts, no other applications open or used, I now have 6 % left in 12.5 hours? There must be a leakage, or a short in the wiring wouldn't you think?
 
When I try to move apps around on iOS 5 iPad 2 the apps get stuck in the jiggling mode and won't stop. On iOS 5 iPhone 4 apps get stuck in the newsstand app randomly.

Apple is said to be releasing iOS 5.0.1 in a few weeks to solve the battery issue
 
For some reason making notes with Siri does not save them to the Cloud.

If I go into Notes and make a new note, it then appears in my Notes section in Mail on iCloud.

If I take the note using Siri then it does not. Even if I edit the note later, it still will not show there. Bizarre.

interesting. I have found my standby life to be stellar. I can even listen to my music (when the screen is black) for hours without consuming any/much battery life. But anytime I do ANYTHING with the screen on (even if I'm just looking through settings) the battery drains very quickly.

This could very well be the cause.

...now if I can just get the lens rattle thing under control.

Ipod troubles

I searched the thread for this, but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. My daughter and I both have 3gs's and after updating to iOS 5 we have both experienced the iPod app crashing and skipping. I listen to it all day. When I pause it, then play again, it stops, maybe starts again, but when it does start, it skips for a few seconds. Sometimes it just crashes out-right. The phone app also crashes!
Now, I expect apps to crash, but the phone?:confused:
Opening apps now is slower, typing is slower the first 30 seconds or so after opening an app, etc...I understand the processor isn't as fast as the newer models, so that's to be expected.
Anyway, I wonder if there's a fix for this.

After my wife's iPhone started acting funny like the apps crashing a lot and other bugs I did a restore and everything seems to have gone okay except now I can't sync it to iTunes. It always brings up the "this computer has previously been synced with an iPhone or other device" and it gives you the choice to setup as a new iPhone or to restore from backup. I've tried restoring it 3 times from a backup but it asks me the same thing every time I plug it in. I can eject the phone and it works fine as a phone I just can't sync it. I don't know what to do next, please help.
 
internal mic doesn't mute in headphones during a voice call

I have an iPhone 4S and the internal mic is active in my headphones when I make a voice call. I can hear the noises around me at at least the same volume as the voice on the other end of the line. If anyone knows of a way to mute the internal mic so that I can't hear what it picks up, but the person on the other end of the call still can, I'd be very happy to hear about it. I'm willing to jailbreak if necessary to achieve this.

So, I followed the instructions here to fix my network and signal problems on my iPhone, and it worked gloriously! Just posting to that anyone else with this similar problem can fix it for themselves.

Photo App/iCloud Bug

when i open my photo app, under the camera roll option it always says "Downloading 56 of 77" and never stops or changes. i think it has something to do with my iCloud backup. :confused:
 
iTunes sucks

iTunes has refused, for months now, to recognize my pricetacular iPhone 4S. I've wasted countless hours of my life trying to fix the bug, to no avail. Finally I discovered CopyTransManager (love you!), which will let you sync music to your iPhone/Pod without iTunes. Now I just need to figure out how to sync photos. This is the cutting edge technology I paid a small fortune for?! Embarrassing and shameful, Apple. I hope and pray that Apple gets slapped with a lawsuit for refusing compatibility with Windows.
 
Bug

Hello,

This is my first question posted on a forum, so go easy on me. I have a jailbroken iPhone 4 with iOS 5.0.1. My issue is that certain apps (find my iPhone, Facebook, words with friends, hanging with friends) are not allowing me to enter text in the text boxes whether it is to login or send a message or make a post. Safari and cydia still allow me to enter text.

I have searched many forums, but to no avail. I recently restored my iPhone and I was good for about a week. I've gone through and systematically checked the tweaks, themes etc. to find what may have caused this.

So now I come to you all in the hopes that someone other than me has had this issue and may know a possible fix.

I see the same thing. Once in a while ( like once a month or less ) I'll get a call and I have trouble answering it. I'll make three or four attempts to swipe the slider to the right before it responds. The little on screen widget moves to the right but when I release it it jumps back to the left without picking up the call. So far I've always been able to get it to work before the caller gives up.
