I have an 11 Pro and I want to purchase the new SE very badly. I know it wouldn’t be a smart purchase seeing as one of the phones would just sit as I use the other.

I have a used iPhone 8 that has a hardware issue with camera, I thought it had 90 day warranty but only 14 days, I was so busy didn’t catch problem until too late. If you look at the sensor with magnifier it looks like someone purposely damaged the sensor. It takes longer to focus and every shot is out of focus on one side. It’ll be nice to have a nice camera again...using iPad for some pics right now.

Here goes: having only just got hold of an iPhone 6 (with new battery), I’m still so pleased with how it works compared with my old 5 that my initial resolve to order a new SE is now wavering. I’m not sure whether I’m posting this because I want someone to convince me that the new SE will blow me away compared with my 6, or whether I’m trying to cure myself publicly of my new apple fandom. Seriously - the 6 is great (at least in my limited smartphone experience)! I would welcome your thoughts...
Depends if you have the spare funds for the new phone. Can always sell your 6 to offset a small amount of the cost. New SE is going to be an awesome phone for years to come, at a very affordable price.
FYI, employee discounts are already available for the SE. I missed it unfortunately. (but it's only 9 bucks in my case ).

The reason why is because my iPhone 8 was space gray (basically black) and it was a little lackluster from that standpoint. An all black iPhone just looks like any other smartphone when it's off. The white one with black front looks unmistakingly Apple IMO.
Over the years, I also found that monotone colors on the iPhone have a tendency to give it a bulkier appearance. When there is a contrasting color on the sides, the phone looks thinner. The silver sides contrast very well against the black front and snow white back (just as they do on the iPhone 11).
Hence, a white 128 GB was my choice. Very happy with it. I actually viewed the new SE in AR yesterday on multiple surfaces. You can do this towards the bottom of the page on Apple's SE-dedicated page using your iPhone or iPad. This can help you decide on the color.

Were you able to order both together, or did you have to order one under your Apple ID and one under hers? I couldn’t order two under my ID so I had to do one under mine and one under my son’s. I wasn’t sure if it was a limitation on military discount, or something else. I got up early to try to get the order in and avoid a long wait, so much for that. 😅 Ordered at around 6:25am PDT but not early enough to prevent delay. Oh well.
Anyone pre-order from Walmart? Looks like they're offering $200 discount on the SE with device installment.
I can't decide yet where to order from. I've had iPhones and iPads lost in the mail so I always choose store pickup and that's no longer an option with Apple Store.

I think it would be a first in Apple history, but it’s fun to speculate since we have a week to fill 🙃 What’s the possibility that, given the fact that this isn’t a huge, hyped, anticipated launch, and since things are operating slowly due to the pandemic situation, they don’t make Fedex hold our phones for Friday delivery once they start shipping? Zero?
If you've not already ordered, and you have the funds available to do so... remember Apple will allow 14 day return period as long as there's no damage etc. So you could order both, and just return the one you don't like as much.
I did exactly that. Agonized over it a few more hours and then canceled the black one. I figure half of the white one is black anyway!
I guess we are those people who are not obsessed with the latest and the greatest. I am proud to be among you guys.
Technically, this does have the latest chipset (should have decent longevity).
Design is old and certainly not the greatest in terms of features, though.
The days of me buying the latest and greatest stopped when the iPhone Pro came out, I bought it but couldn't justify the cost, so sold it to a family member for retail price rather than return it.
I do still love the latest tech if I find it's going to be useful, but I'm also of an age now where I am being more conscious of my spending and life in general. For me there's more to life than the best phone when I can get something that does the same job for less than half the price (based on my own needs).

Interesting. My day of ’this is the way’ started 5 am earlier today. I also love the latest tech if it has laser coming out of it or x-ray scanner built-in. But seriously ‘this is the way’ ... the smart way.
