Would love if Apple had fooled us all and showing something none expects. All the rumored spect but in a iPhone 13 mini format OR maybe reused the old X/XS format and screensize.

Mark Gurman likes to flip flop on his reports.

Happening this week?
Happening next week?
Happening next month?

If I were buying a new iPhone, it would definitely be my first choice provided the price is right.

Me too..

But "that" Apple is long gone

"This" Apple would be more likely to surprise us with an iPhone that requires an Apple One subscription to use
I wouldn't mind that tho if it meant longer support and extended warranty. A longer lifecycle is someting I would love to see.

If Apple and other manfufacturers could earn money on keeping things "alive" they would.
In theory the 30% should be carrot enough, but since it doesn't, maybe a seprate subscription fee is a way forward

I'm surprised Apple haven't tried it yet, as I do think there's a market for it

I suspect the problem is the pricing they'd need to charge monthly to make it pencil out how they'd like

Right now they somewhat hide the true costs to consumers behind carrier deals

It's shocking to me how people sign up for really overpriced cell service to get "free" phones

Too many people seem to lack basic financial reasoning and analysis skills

Would probably make sense. Some people don't want to be tied to carriers and people signing up with "independent" carriers is rising. However Gurman did say months ago where they said Apple dropped plans for a iPhone Hardware Subscription Service.

I'll have to go read that -- was cost the issue?

It just seems like it'd be very expensive ... if Apple had ever done their own MVNO I could see them trying it as it'd be a full first party offering

looking like it's not today either, ladies and gentlemen.

at least we're getting a vision pro-related announcement tomorrow!

"NEW: Apple will launch Apple TV+ for Android as early as today, a key expansion as it looks to boost subscribers."
That's all Mark Gurmam has to say.

New : refurbished m4 Macs (better announcement than for android)

Anyways I was hopping iOS 18.4 beta 1, tomorrow (last chance) otherwise next week.

If the rumors are correct that the SE 4 will start at $500, I think it will be a sales disappointment. For the budget shopper these phones have historically been targeted at, $500 is not affordable or a bargain in my opinion. Especially if it's a 64GB. You're talking ~$650 for the 256GB after taxes. I think the current SE price of $429 is more psychologically appealing, especially if it has 128GB.

Remember that when the iPad 10th gen came out, the 64GB was priced at $450 which was sticker shock for a lot of people in comparison to the 9th gen.

I also would be surprised if it has 8GB RAM + AI because at $500 I believe it would cannibilize the iPhone 15 which I don't expect Apple to discontinue until the fall.
