Yeah, I agree, but I still found it funny that the CSR called it a iPhone package. Like I said, I was just so happy to finally have an iphone. I had a blackberry curve from AT&T that I unlocked to use with T-mo, but sold it to fund the purchase of this once I saw enough success stories on unlocking.
I am one happy camper!:D

Thanks for the replies folks. Sorry for the delayed reply, one night my phone miraculously started working. As far as the Edge settings go, I didn't change it to wap.voicestream.com because of my data plan issue. I'll have to call the dreaded TMo Customer Support line. It works at home and at work but not on the road for me. It's alright.

Has anyone found a good solution for Instant Messengers? I noticed that everytime i leave the IM window, it signs me off. Let's see if the call to TMobile helps.

iBrickr did not JailBreak

Hi I tried to unlock iphone using iBrickr, It crossed the PCX file update process, but my phone is not jailbroken yet. How do i proceed from here?

ibrickr is not trying to break again..it says it has done it...

please help
 
Here are the EDGE settings for Cellcom Israel:

server: internetg
user: test
password: test

MAKE SURE YOU ARRANGE A DATA PLAN BEFORE CHANGING THESE SETTINGS!

The data plans are pretty expensive as it is (around 12$ for 120MB transfer per month).

Once you set these settings, you are automatically on the EDGE network, and it can cost a lot of money without a plan (one representative told me it's around 9.24 agorot per KILOBYTE!! Another representative said it's just 1 agorot per KB, so I'm not sure).

- If this unlock works on absolutely every GSM carrier.
- Which data plan you should add to your current service.

In Cambodia also working... I had tried.. It work with Mobitel GSM....
 
I unlocked one this week that's with a person headed to India. He's a cell phone rep for AirTel there, so I'll know soon if it worked!
 
Im looking to buy the new 8g iphone today. If i buy it and it has new software.. i believe it will most likely have the 1.1.1 firmware... will i still be able to unlock it, and or downgrade and than unlock it

Unlikely. The iPhone Dev Team hasn't said anything about a successful downgrade to 1.0.2 or unlock for 1.1.1.
 
Yay. It`s working.

Just unlocked two iPhones here in India. Working fine with Vodafone. Yippy. Followed the modmyiphone tutorial. Didnt have any problem et al.
 
SSH from my Mac to the Iphone

I have exactly the same situation. After I ssh with root and pass, pressing any key it disconnects from SSH.

Any Ideas why is this happening?

When I go SSH using FUGU or Cyberduck works OK....but I really need to go command line.

Hi,

Folowed all the tutorieals ect and cant solve my problem.

Geting this msg after anySIM finishes:

The firmware on this iPhone is already patched. anySIM will now quit. Please turn your phone and turn it on again after anySIM quits.

Restarting the phone and nothing happend.
 
does anyone know if i take my unlocked iphone on 1.0.2 from the free software and upgrade to 1.1.1 then jailbreak with the new idependance and then use the downgrade baseband method then run the free unlock tool again if that will work?
 
Hey guys, I have a question about activation and unlock. I know there is no free unlock method for 1.1.1 right now. I'm going to buy an iphone from Apple store tomorrow and most likely it will be 1.1.1 firmware. I'm also going to buy the unlock from IPSF website. My question is how do I activate my phone before I unlock it? Do I need to downgrade it before I activate it? I'm really lost from all of these tutorials and firmware. Can you please help me with the activation? Please provide the link to tutorial if you can. Thanks

As I understand it, you have to downgrade to 1.02 first, then use Independence 1.2.2 to activate/jailbreak/prepare it for an upgrade to 1.1.1.. Once you've upgraded back to 1.1.1, you use Independence again to activate/jailbreak, followed by a special post-upgrade process through Independence.
 
Sucessful Activation on Rogers IPSF

helloo everyone.

I got it working on Rogers, vancouver, bc.

IF your having trouble unclocking/ activating... YOU HAVE to be patient until you IMEI is registerd. I was panicking thinking i F&^$ it up. But if you email the support team they can speend up the registraition.

I TOTALLY LOOOOVE THIS PHONE. I RECOMENED IT.

Also, if you want... call Rogers tec and ask them to disconect you from Edge. My friend just got a bill for a whooooping +$600.00!!!!!! He's freaked not knowing how he's going to pay for it... I feel bad. Don't take the chance. While i was talking to the rogers rep he told me the data rates are what is hindering the iphone progress to be offered to Canadians.

So... with that email me if you have any questions. :rolleyes:
