Geninengly curious, you say if you are alive in 4 years, do you have some ailment or are you that concerned about the US/World future that your life will literally be at risk?

I didn’t say “if I’m alive”…..I said “if he’s still alive” by then.
At the same time I’m concerned about how the world looks in a couple of years.

If it's the later, I'm truly sorry, that sounds awful to believe that and have that outlook. I wish you the best. I have problems with Trump, did not vote for him or musk but I really don't see our democracy imploding because of him. Hope I'm wrong.

It's pretty understandable, especially if one is having their life and career destroyed by his capricious and reckless actions right now.

Who is having their life and career destroyed? If the federal government was a private corporation there would have been layoffs years ago. I’ve been laid off twice and I know the feeling. But the federal government is not a security blanket.

I realize you disagree with the statements about Musk, but I also know you're intelligent and realize those feelings are out there from a lot of people in the world right now (not hard to find in the news).

I was simply trying to help the user I replied to with understanding the "why" of the Musk stuff (in broad strokes)

Ok. Then I understand why you say these things. I don’t agree at all however. Private companies are about making money and nothing else. Governments also have other responsibilities (social care/ care in general maybe?). At least not always activities that generate money.

Edit: checks and balances….corporations don’t like that, but they are essential for good quality government.
