There was a time when the iphone was pretty much best everything in smartphones.

No longer. At this stage the iphone 6 would barely make my top 5 smart phones because it just lags on so many fronts.

Personally I want Apple to dig deep and make better iPhones. I want to consider the 6S and hope Apple makes a real effort this time around.

Can't disagree.

I guess you missed nearly all my posts here where I've agreed the S6 has a better camera.

My point all along has been that the iPhone certainly doesn't take poor photographs even if the S6 is superior in this department. It matters to some more than others as a bragging right it seems. You missed that point by a country mile.

MRU is a user I respect as he has good experience of both devices and is honest enough to state that both phones take very good photographs. I wish more people were like that and these threads would contain less tit for tat.

I don't think people are now saying the iPhone camera is bad. The front camera is. The MP doesn't help when people want to crop, etc.

But the iPhone camera is still top class for smartphone cameras. Anyone who says otherwise, then yes, you should rightly call out.

But I think people are simply saying the S6 is better.

I really don't know what you do on this subforum apart of trying to start flame baits and criticise anything that is not from Apple.

That behavior has a name

This.

i7guy is someone who has openly said he will never give the S6 a chance, yet he partakes in S6-heavy related threads. And doing so with ignorance, falsehoods, and sometimes even pure nonsense.

But everybody in this discussion agrees the S6 has a better camera? We all have varying degrees of opinions on how much better it is but that is anybody's right.

Then ignore him? He has as much right as anybody here to discuss within topics and as far as I am aware there is no conformity scale for each thread or section. In his defence I've never seen him getting personal with you lot. If you don't like his opinion like you often say, spare the rest of us the nonsense of finger pointing within topics and ignore the fella. I block people who I don't wish to read replies from. It makes this place a lot more harmonious, I tell thee. :)

Of course he can post as much as he wants where he wants. And in turn, people can call him out for his absurdities. Like trying to downplay the S6 (both camera-wise and other aspects of it in other threads/posts) despite having no personal experience with it, and then in this thread, making the excuse that the iPhone 6 has older hardware. Again, if he's going to use that argument and truly stand by it, there are plenty of questions to ponder, all of which I detail in my post to him here:

Have a read and tell me if I'm wrong. He doesn't seem to want to properly respond to it, which in itself is revealing.

I don't respond to every poster that quotes me either. Is it revealing? Or is it that I dip in and out of this place because I can't spend all day on here like many? I think you've assumed he's chosen not to respond to you rather than knowing for sure. I responded to it but didn't address everything you said btw. Anyway this is off topic on an already ruined thread.

Here are pictures taken a few minutes ago, Taken just point and shoot no processing of the images was done.
The the images were cropped to get a closer look at the details.
The pictures were taken in daylight in mixed light. Then they were cropped to see more details.

Gotta be in it to win it
The auto white balance in the iphone seems to be better than the s6; whether it's hardware or software I don't know.

I took the attached photo in the store with my iphone. The iphone captured the display table accurately while the s6 shows a color cast. I think this is live view, the photo was identical. No doubt outside shots are more tuned and easier to capture than indoor shots under fluorescent lighting.

Maybe not perfect, what phone camera is?
Not perfect but better.

Yup. I don't remember anyone saying the s6 camera is "perfect." Nor anyone that is claiming the iPhone camera is now suddenly "bad" (and if they are, they should be rightfully corrected).

But when you've got nothing else to argue with, you'll cling to one link or go to the Samsung kiosk to show one pic that supports your bias and softens the hurt that something out there is better than the iPhone.

All the while ignoring multiple other links and actual real world user account feedback of both devices in question.

People had no problem whatsoever calling the iPhone camera the best. Now that devices are besting the iPhone (again, on several fronts), suddenly we have a problem labeling what's best. Now best must mean its perfect. Was the iPhone ever perfect despite being the best?

Classic denial. Classic strawman. Classic apple fanatism.

The S6 probably has a better camera than the 6 plus. However I have to say that I'm really pleased with the camera on my 6 plus. I'm on holiday (vacation) at the moment and the camera has been flawless for me. It's captured some truly beautiful shots. It hasn't let me down once.

Yep as I said earlier the S6 & S6 Edge have fantastic camera and so does the iPhone 6/6plus.

The S6 may be better overall - but really people are arguing over being first best and being second best amongst hundreds of other competitors ...

I am happy taking photos on either of those devices and know i'll get generally better shots than other smartphones without adapting how I take the shot on certain devices. Like I say - I generally get the most from any camera where I can, very few have left me really bitter. :)

But yeah S6 is general consensus has best camera phone and the iPhone 6+ possibly second. Followed not too far behind by the likes of Lumia 930/Icon - LG G4/G3 - Xperia Z3/Z3c/Z3+ - S5/Note4/Galaxy Alpha and so forth...

(even though I still think my trusty old Lumia 1030 gives all the others a run for their money - if it wasn't so slooooow between shots ;) )
