Now, I'm not the biggest user but I receive 50 emails and 30 texts a day, all email is set to push, I make about 20 minutes of phone calls, I web browse for maybe 2 hours all-in, I check Twitter on and off, the one hour round trip commute has Bluetooth on and connected all day.
For that 12 hour use period and identical amount of usage each day I used to come home with 35% battery. Now I come home at 91%.
Happy with mine. Really like the size. I also prefer gestures to home button. I find they make one-handed use quite a bit easier. Facial recognition has been essentially instant. Once I tap to open I just swipe and it's done.

And on weekends when I'm doing all that plus talking a lot more and shooting photos and taking video and playing a few games I have yet to end a day of my first month with the iPhone X with less than 60% battery.
Pretty amazing.
Other than that, restoring from a backup, it's essentially your old phone on a new device.
Face ID still sucks though. It’s slow and fussy, and I end up having to use my passcode far too often.
It just shows how intuitive the new gestures are. I have been an iPhone user since the 3G came out. I have had multiple iPads in this time as well. Yet, after a week of owning the X, the gestures became so natural that it feels weird when I pickup a different iPhone or my iPad. Kind of like the click wheel on iPods at one time seemed untouchable...Do you really though? Really?
Up until a month ago navigating an iPhone via the home button was standard practise for all of us. Even 2 of the latest iPhones still use this technology, yet it’s talked about like it’s inferior and almost prehistoric.
I’m sure people like me with my ancient 6S are hilarious to the elite, but it’s still just a different method to achieve the same outcome. iOS still looks the same beyond these super cool features.
Never upgrading?best phone ever built I'm not upgrading anymore though I love my X
Wishing they would just allow swiping apps up to close them instead on press and hold and press the xIt just shows how intuitive the new gestures are. Day to day usage is fine, I prefer this form factor and screen over my 7 Plus by miles. I was concerned about battery life, but it seems to hold up well enough throughout my day. Helps that it gets a small top up on my commutes when I plug it in for CarPlay.

Of all the things to improve upon for future iPhones, Face ID will be Apples primary goal, because it is the sole purpose of Apples future as they noted. Not just in the sense of improving security, but the overall responsiveness of the sensors, improving different angles Face ID can be used, improving the machine learning process of how Face ID adapts to the user, etc .
Face ID is much like touch ID when it first started, it will never be perfect, but Apple will continue to shape shift it to make it even better than it was when it first started.
