I’m starting to wonder if it’s doing it to avoid burn in on the OLED screen? It seems to do it in places that have more static content from what I’ve noticed.

Every iPhone X I have used either my own, my friends’ or the ones at the store. I’m fairly confident that this bug is fixed in 11.2 beta 2 for the X... at least when I ran it for a day it was gone, and as soon as I went back to 11.1 it returned.

And you think is software problem? I don’t understand why Apple support told me to restore the phone, I spent few hours for that, and other flickers I find if you change a dynamic wallpaper to lock screen, even worst.

I have seen it too using the mail app. Glad to know I am not alone. I agree it is probably a software issue that will hopefully be fixed in a future update. If it is not I have AppleCare + to take care of it.

I also assume, it is a software bug. The Apple support is not always the best help ;). They usually try first to use the general fixing possibilities like soft reset, hard reset and so on.

Let's hope the next iOS update will fix it.

Definitely software related. I experienced this on my 7 plus and X after installing iOS 11 and it still hasn’t been fixed on iOS 11.1.

Hi,

on my iPhone X (Space Gray 256 GB with iOS 11.1) the screen flickers, when I open the mail app. I posted a video on twitter:

It is probably a software bug. Does someone else has this problem, too?

Bye

Moe
I looked at your video. I don’t have it. You used iOS to record the screen, so it’s not hardware since the software is recording the flicker.

I have a static wallpaper. Maybe it’s caused by having a live or dynamic wallpaper?

Are you running iOS 11.1?

I’m thinking it’s software because it doesn’t show up anywhere else, only in the mail app.

Yes saw it immediately after restoring from my 7 backup. It seems to have stopped now.
