So I have had pretty much every model of iPhone since 4, certainly would never miss out on the hardware change versions.

I ordered iPhone X, and then decided to cancel it because I think the price is ridiculous.

The touch ID missing is a problem for me because I use my phone in many different places, including places where face id would not work. And many people are complaining about how bad face id is.

I'm not a stranger to spending stupidly, I have a stupidly expensive run car (Porsche) and spend thousands on servicing. But notch and no touch id, and smaller usable screen overall just seems ridiculous for the price and I decided not to pay for it.

If they release the rumored cheaper model without the OLED screen this year then I will consider buying it.

Anyone else feel similar? Poor value for money?

Why would you consider the cheaper model since faceid would not work for you? I am curious of these places though.

Why does it matter if anyone else returned the phone (or didn't buy it) for some of the same reasons you did? If you felt good about the decision, there should be no need to seek validation from strangers.

I'll add no...

I know why I didn't get the X, and most of the people here ALSO know why I didn't get the X (I'm vocal enough about it).

But price was never a factor. Sorry.

This is old subject matter--;)

But, FaceID works great for me

Love the screen size for movies and in-hand form factor

Screen is crisp and natural in it's colors

Since I paid 969.00 for my almost 2.5 year old 128gb 6s Plus. I don't find the X too expensive

Considering most people spend hours and hours on their phones a day (most spend more time using their phone then using their $1500 tv or $1500 laptop, $1000 for the iphone isn't a stretch.

Not to mention most (if not all) Apple products that get released aren't exactly known as a "Can you believe this Mac costs this little?

Paying a $1,000 for a phone is pretty dumb. But I really do enjoy my X. I guess I make up for it my having an ipad 3 and a 2011 MBP.
:D

I don't have an X, but my 128GB 6s+ was close to the price of one.

I don't think it's dumb to pay that price, especially if I had wanted one. We (my wife and I) keep our phones for 2.5 to 3.5 years (or more some times). And then the phones move down to secondary devices for however long they last. So over however much that amount of time ends up being it's worth the price I think.

Just what I think…

I hate the notch and know the Touch ID is faster and more reliable(with dry hands) but still feel the iPhone is worth its asking price but not for some of the reasons the people who are in love with the x think.

That being said I paid way below retail for mine so that probably makes a difference.
