I was just thinking the same thing. I like my Max but its not worth the price I paid for it. I had a perfectly fine working X before this and I really didnt have any reason to upgrade besides the bigger screen which I dont even care about anymore. I do notice the connectivity difference. My Max is always dropping wifi in my bedroom and basement where my X had no problem. Also with the Max when i come out of no signal areas like the subwayit takes forever to reconnect. I always have to toggle airplane mode to get the signal back and I didnt have to do that with my Intel X. I might look on ebay and swappa and see what XS Max's are going for if I can get a good price (mine is still in mint condition and fully unlocked) I will sell it and pick up a X, pocket the difference and wait to the 2020 iphone line up.

Are you guys sure you had an “Intel X”? The Verizon, Sprint, and SIM FREE versions of the X are Qualcomm.

No, I quite like the idea of holding out until my iPhone X gets lost or damaged beyond repair before replacing it.

I feel that at its £1000+ price point (on launch), upgrading unless absolutely necessary feels unnecessarily excessive.

I’ve got an X & will be upgrading as I have the 64GB model & this is proving to be a real limitation, in that I can’t even synch my phone now as I don’t have enough spare memory space on my phone.

Damn, that 5.4" iPhone looks amazing! I really wish I could wait another year, but my iPhone 6 is overdue for an upgrade. I still don't quite get why Apple is on a three year design schedule nowadays (6 / 6s / 7 shared a similar design, as do the X, XS and XI), that seems rather long for a phone.

I got bit by that. I'm holding onto the 7 and had my phone for almost 3 years now. I really should have upgraded for the XS but held off thinking that the XI will be the re-design.

I really don't want to wait for a 3rd year simply because I really want the bigger screen, so I might just have to suck it up, upgrade this year for the XI and then again next year for the XII if the rumors are true about this huge re-design and upgrade. Also, I take a ton of photos and really value the camera upgrade (as ugly as the square hump is...).

Get the XR on a deep discount then upgrade again when XII comes out. Simple.

Yep, sounds like a great plan. I just ordered a used iPhone X (yep, should have waited for September, but really want a water resistant phone for a hiking trip coming up in August), which I might sell next year depending on what exactly Apple announces then. This will lose a few hundred bucks, but so would a new iPhone in a year's time.

Nope, always planned on keeping the X 3 years and I don’t see any major upgrades this year.
