. Apple's QC is garbage.

I would say Apples success rate of producing a quality product is much higher than that of something that they release is faulty or garbage. And If That's your belief about their quality control, I'm fairly confident Apples hardware sales would not be contributing to the success they have today with the product(s) that they put out being the worlds richest company.

Also, What about the other millions of products that are sold worldwide, can you attest to others customer satisfaction rate? You're entitled to your opinion, but by no means is it accurate, it's just an assertion because of your own negative experience.

I will say that all electronic manufactures will have quality control issues of some sort, because no mass produced item will be perfect, that's just not possible. That Includes auto manufacturers, electronic manufacturers, anything that os mass produced in a large quantity could have the potential of having a defect that passes through quality control.

I've made purchases from their entire product range and I've had to return every item multiple times before settling on one. This is from purchasing multiple products every year since 2004.

No device is perfect, correct, but their defect rate is unusually high which points to poor quality assurance during manufacture. You are more likely to receive a product that has some kind defect than not.

Unfortunate for you to have gotten so many poor quality Apple products, but if you’re thinking your experiences translate to Apple having high defect rates, you are just completely off base and incorrect.

What's weird with these stories is they never post a picture of such claims of dents and scratches.
I never had a single scratch or nick on any of my brand new bought iphones and the OP got 3 damaged brand new iphones?
Weird...

Well, I have a deep scratch on the back of my sealed iPhone SE that I got this afternoon from the Apple store.

It’s tiny, but it’s the placement that bothers me most. The scratch connects the Apple logo and the “leaf”. I’m pretty OCD, so it bothers me. Maybe it wouldn’t bother others.

I’ve also noticed variances with the LCD screens. I had a silver SE where the screen was blindingly bright and had a “screen door” effect on videos, where you could see pixelation.

I actually don’t want to return this scratched phone because the screen is perfect. It’s dimmer, but text and video is very smooth without that “screen door effect”.

I’d still take it back if it was mine. By the way what did you pay for it and what carrier?

I would still bring the scratch to Apples attention and see what they offer or suggest. But they would need to verify the scratch on the phone first and I would not wait too long, being you just purchased it.

QC at Apple has gotten better as is evident by the Fewer threads and participants in each thread
Bring your iPhone back and exchange it
Next time buy direct from Apple if you didn’t

I paid $469 CDN direct from Apple unlocked. No carrier.

Returned it for a Silver SE without any scratches after work. It’s silly, but the scratch would have driven me crazy.

I find the silver is a nice change from my black iPhone 4s too. Overall, very happy with the SE.

I just did a straight exchange for a silver SE. Happy with it and hope that it serves me well for at least the next 3 years.

Damn man if you had at&t you can buy a brand new one for $159

I had a pretty noticeable white scratch on the lid of my 15" MacBook Pro 2015 right out of the box that I got last Fall. The worst part was that it was a custom configuration and my first Mac, so after going back and forth with Apple Support on the phone, I had to mail it back and wait a while to get a new replacement.

I recently bought a new iPhone X and it had many defects out of the box. After long discussions with my dealer they finally agreed to give me a brand new one and guess what? It also came with some cosmetic damages straight out of the box!! There are some marks on the steel rim (space grey). Marks are small say 0,5mm dots in two places (another location has more that one) where space grey colour came off and shiny stainless steel natural colour shows. Obviously it have been hit with something sharp. Those can be seen in normal lightning from about arms lenght when looking it. Also small scratch on the camera lens and dust spot but does not seem to be on the part where actual camera lens is, so I guess no need to worry about that. Is Apple QC really this bad nowdays or am I just that unlucky?

My original one had prescratched screen and back cover but no dents in the steel rim. It also had popping noise from case (even new unit has some of that but much less obvious) and display uniformity problem (other half of the screen darker and slightly different shade and very limited viewing angle without considerable colour shift) and somewhat weak battery (came with suspiciously low charge level right out of the box).

I don't know what to do anymore. I guess I just have to take a loss and suffer from some cosmetic failure. I don't think I can get another replacement. Both units are from the same factory but manufacturing date is 1-2 months different.
