Sorry, go look again. It is ugly as hell.

The screen doesn't even go to the edges and you have a crap bezel around the whole front and a big notch cut out that you miss portions of videos and apps. Horrible design - Samsung wins..time to switch.

I just wish they would put a new OS on Samsung hardware.

Apple is going downhill

The new screen is like magic!

I posted a picture in my last reply

cool, this answer's another poster's question, but it was not my particular scenario. I'll just wait for the reviews. I'll stay on here to see if they figure out how to get touchID under the display to work.

Well I just decided with the help of my wife to get the X... why you might ask. Well I'm getting it for the screen size. I literally could care less about every other feature of the phone. I iPhone 8 standard is too small for me and the 8+ is too big. The x is the sweet spot. This will be my first iPhone so I'm going all in.

How is this different than device sitting in your lap? Don't you need to glance down at it to look at screen?

Your opinion. Mine is: it looks fantastic.

Your opinions don't stack up. The notch obstruction can be avoided by simply not expanding video to the edge of the screen. The bezel is minimal to say the least.

The manufacturer which made phones that explode does not win. Ever.
That's not exactly a fair statement though. They didn't make phones to explode on purpose. People say Face ID is crap because it "failed" on stage yesterday, they do that on purpose too? Take it for what it is, no one or item is ever perfect... everything is subjective.

There's a difference between a phone exploding and the lack of checks to make sure a phone doesn't need logging into before FaceID is demonstrated, though.

The first is a huge, potentially life-threatening manufacturing fail. The second is a careless slip-up. They're not comparable.

Thanks for proving my point.

Stop fighting now. There's a lot of emotion.

To say it's ugly is just little unfair, considering you've haven't held one. You need the hold test :D

Many of here will buy it without ever having seen it up close, as we have faith that Apple's phone is pretty good.

Also, again I get the feeling that there are people who come here just to argue. If that's true, then that's just bizarre.

it's already unlocked under the table. Then when I get a chance I'll read it (I don't have to look at the entire phone just the latest message which is at the bottom).

Same thing with the X. If its already unlocked and sitting on your lap, you dont need to go through the unlock and swipe process.

It doesn't re-lock just because you looked away.

Yeah at some point, i have more than enough time to put things into perspective; however if the wait extends into 2018 am sticking with the 7+.

***** brexit, causing it to be 1:1, a £1000 phone is expensive.
The pound to euro has been on a clash course with each other since 2008 and was going to be naturalised in 2020 when we had to convert to the euro, not to mention the pound has been falling for years against the dollar.

More to the point Apple last year openly admitted less iPhones 7 would be sold but more profit would be made and they planned to do the same with this years phone.
As you can see the X will make even more of a killing

So when you blame Britexit you should be thinking more realistically Apple = more greed

i'm wondering which one will be less scratch resistant, the stainless steel on the side (band) will probably scratch over time.

Whichever color seems to be the least popular will be the one I order. I ordered the jet black (the most popular) 7+ last year and then promptly put a case on it which kinda defeated the purpose. I believe the front of both will be identical (correct me if I'm wrong) so I'd rather increase my odds of being able to order quickly and receive it quicker.

Also, since I joined the iPhone Upgrade Program last year when I ordered the 7+, I'm not quite sure how the preordering process works for IUP members. It looks like IUP folks who are going to pre-order the 8/8+ can start the pre-order process now and finish the process quickly when ordering goes live. Is this same way it worked last last year or have they streamlined it? That option isn't available for those who want the X, yet. I'm assuming that after the 8/8+ launch date, those of us who want the X can start the pre-order process?

Also, wondering if others think with separate launch dates for the different products, that the ordering for the X (which has its detractors) will run smoother than it did last year?
