No jet black or blush gold .... not really feel want to buy
current 6 plus is still work great...

Do you think they'll skip iPhone 9? It would seem weird to go back now, but also kinda weird to skip?
My guess(es):

If they can get enough OLEDs next year, they will skip the number 9. There will just be iPhones 11 and 11+ (the rumored 6.3 or 6.4 inch larger OLED phone).

Otherwise, there'll be iPhones 8S or 9, 8S+ or 9+, X.2 and X.2+. NOTE: I have no idea what they would call the OLED models in this case, X.2 and X.2+ are just placeholders.

EDIT/ADD: Another thought: XS could replace my 11 and/or my X.2 above.

Trying to save up to buy a house so....

I’m telling myself I’m not going to buy it
But my paid off credit cards might have other ideas

I think Apple may have misstepped here. People have been willing to pay a premium, for what they see as the best. I have.

Now that the iPhone X is a further extreme premium, it will be a step too much for many.
But those people who would normally have been willing to pay the normal premium for an iPhone 8, will now not be getting the best phone (as that is clearly the iPhone X).

probably going for the silver 64GB.
The prices here in Switzerland are insane.
We have to pay CHF 1'199 for the base model, CHF 1'389 for the 256GB version.
The exchange rate from US$ to CHF is 1:1...

I'm a bit disappointed about the "delay"

My question is... do the apps favor toward an 7 or 7+ model. Given the size of the X screen that is larger than a plus but the size overall feels like a 7. Will iBooks for example have the same feel or is it a brain perception thing? I like iBooks on my 7+ but I can't stand it on a 7. This will be the deciding factor for me. If the apps layout like a 7+ I'm happy. If it's a 7 I'm not.

I feel your pain. In canada the 256 can run you up over $2000 with applecare. I was willing to buy it on friday but i’m also very dissapointed with the delay.

Good question. Especially since the bezel of the current 7+ looks like a book header/footer, giving the illusion of size. The iPhone X would need to not use the top and bottom to have the same illusion.

For apps I think it'll be easy... it'll layout like the 7+.

Overall I think it's like TVs. The big border once made them look bigger.. now nobody likes the big border of course. Even my old CRT looked bigger than the plasma that replaced it, despite the screen size being a fair bit smaller... SO... iPhone X will be and will feel bigger IMO.

EDIT: decided against 64Gb. Bloody Apple has screwed us all!

256Gb Space Grey X. Better arrive on 11.03.2017 !

Such a shame there won’t be a blush gold though.

There's no white, only silver and grey. Although the silver does look white in videos! I am waiting for MKBHD's crisp 8k video/photos to see all the details

Why does he attend and focus on Apple products? He's an android fanboy. Its well known he uses Android phones as his daily driver and he prefers them to iPhones. Why would Apple waste space at the event and why would he even attend? I wouldn't attend a Samsung event. Why is he at an Apple event

No. I waited and the iPhone 7+ was not what I wanted. I waited again and again Apple disappointed me with their design choices. My next upgrade will not be an iPhone.

I respect your decision. I know for months you have been debating what you were going to do. It looks like that Huwaei smart phone might be on your list after all in March. Ultimately, I wouldn't say I was surprised by the iPhone X, but I think it's enough for me to appreciate what it has to offer. But then again, I'm also someone that upgrades annually regardless. And it doesn't warrant enough for me to wait every few years to upgrade.

FaceID seems great from a technical standpoint - no doubt it required some serious engineering and technology to pull off. What people ought to understand is that the basic premise of FaceID itself is flawed - because its trying to forcibly replace TouchID, which in my view was far simpler, faster, reliable and secure enough. So simply because Apple was unable to commercialize an in-display fingerprint sensor, we now shift to FaceID, which (without a home button) quite honestly, introduces an unnecessary learning curve (muscle memory is hard to retrain), makes everything more awkward (unlocking, multitasking, notifications and control center), and slower. Does this remind anyone of how people felt when Windows 8 took away the start button? Ditto.

To have an opinion from someone who isn't biased towards Apple.
