What's with all the cases, just use it like Apple intended. Naked. Cases, no matter how thin or light, add bulk and makes things look hideous. Why hide the beauty in a cheap plastic or silicone skin? It's like I drive a Kia/Toyota with a Ferrari Enzo engine.

Cases protect the investment inside, just like the Kia/Toyota would protect that Ferrari engine.

Either you understand it you don't. First time you get one big ass scuff mark or scratch or you drop whatever Apple device you happen to have (if you even own one) you'll most definitely figure it out at that moment.

To stick with your silly car analogy, think of cases for iPods and iPhones as the bumpers and seat belts on cars.

Yes, the iClear DOES do it's job but it should be doing it for LESS THAN 25 dollars. Again, that RebelTouch case comes with the same stuff and more for the same price! I am merely advising anyone who is too desperate to wait and might be thinking about the iClear.

I found the iClear at a local Target store for $9.99 (With armband and belt clip). Been pretty happy with it so far - it definitely keeps a sleek profile.

I do wonder about its protective ability, though, so I'm going to the Apple Store soon to check out what's in stock there.

Now imagine your Ferrari with everything but the windshield encased in a giant black bumper.

Ok, maybe that's not fair. Imagine it in a puke green, neon blue, or offensively bright orange bumper... :p

I'm not against cases, but there's no denying that a lot of them make the Touch look like a cheap plastic toy.

Yes but that's the sacrifice we have to make in order to keep them safe :)

You drive your Ferrari around with a giant bumper around it too? ;)

For a variety of reasons, not everyone feels the need to box up their Touch and protect it from all potential harm. Case owners like br0adband seem to think that we don't understand the consequences of using our Touches unprotected, like we're all just ignorant (really, dropping my iPod will damage it?) or spoiled (if it breaks, I'll just get another one) children. His post was condescending, even if it was a month ago and he no longer cares about it.
