I am also still using Catalina (latest version, V10.15.7) and yes, it works real well. It's stable, mature, and solid.

Again, though, it's not exactly fair to compare it to Big Sur. The initial non-beta version did recently arrive, but already there is beta available for the next release, V11.1.0, which should be here soon. Based on previous versions of the Mac OS, that version will still contain some bugs/have some issues, and it won't be until V11.3.0 that things finally start to take shape and be OK.

I've been on Catalina for about 2 months (Previously on Mojave) and I cannot remember the last time I used an OS this unstable.

Upgraded to Catalina from Mojave two months ago. Very solid for me. I then "upgraded" to Big Sur two days ago. A complete disaster. Fell back to Catalina and will maintain for some time.

Same way, but downgrade to Mojave, because the 32 bits compatibility. Steam games on OSX do not run on Catalina.

There is just a page of people posting issues with new replies every few minutes. Is catalina as bad as it looks form this forum?

I was going to install it but now i am not so sure at all.

Thanks!
I have a mid 2015 MBP and a 2020 MacMini. I'm going to install terrible windows 10 on the macmini and revert back on the MBP. Catalina is a hot mess of inconsistent behavior for me.

Is Catalina able to be upgraded from Mojave without messing up iTunes artwork and music files?

Well, when I got my new 16 inch MBP, I first did a migration from Mojave to Catalina with time machine, but noticed some glitches. I then started over and copied my documents and apps to the new machine fresh with Catalina. I then reinstalled the apps fresh and have enjoyed it ever since.

I have an issue with the built in L@TP VPN client. It incorrectly requires a administrator password just to connect where as previously it did not.
