If you’re not sure I’d wait a day To see people’s reactions.
That said I’ve been using the beta versions since the fist iPadOS Public and I am very pleased.
I will be updating tomorrow.

I will wait and see by the end of the day if people are having issues or not then probably upgrade my air 2 to it. I am guessing it won't get iOS 14.

I’m currently on the beta (13.1) and will be updating the to offical version. How do you go about going over to the full offical version?

Delete profile to exit the beta train and install the official tomorrow (patch update)

Update using iTunes or Catalina for full update.

Yes, have a iPad that needs a reset anyway, so I can’t wait much longer.

Definitely updating!
I use my iPad for work, in the sense that my full time job happens within one app on the iPad. I tried the first beta of iPad OS 13 and the app worked just fine, and loved everything else about iPad OS, but I just didn’t trust running the iPad on beta software since I rely on it so much.
But I’m really looking forward to today’s release, both for iPhone and iPad.

How do I know if it will be available for my iPad? I don’t actually know what my model is called, it’s one of the 9.7 inch non pro ones that was announced as the “cheaper” model a couple of years ago...

If your iPad is eligible for the Software Update it will show automatically in the General>software update. Just check there.

It's eligible, both the 5th (A9, no pencil support) and 6th gen (A10, pencil support) are supported this year and likely will be for future version(s) as well.

Yes, I will update. It should be out 12:00 pm central.
I’m wondering if there will be a separate heading for IPadOS?

I "upgraded" to the beta a while ago and yesterday backed up my iPad and then "downgraded" to the 12.x official release. I hope I'll be able to "restore" my apps from the backup after I upgrade later today to 13.1. That sort of thing, though, has always been "iffy" for me.

What I was really hoping for was a replacement for the horrific iTunes, which I have hated for years. :) Apparently no joy on that one.

I didn't know what time it was going to release so I've been checking. I see from above that its 10 AM PST.

But... I'm also checking the book store for an iPadOS 13 book and, so far, nothing.

I'm tempted to get the Beta for Catalina. Is it stable enough yet for a daily MBP?

iPadOS Supported devices

I just recently got the iPad Pro 11" and I'm very excited to be upgrading later today.

Originally I had the Air 2 and while it was still very usable, I was looking for something a little better to use with Sidecar and my MacBook Pro. I don't have a lot of desk space so using an iPad as a third monitor to use for a couple of windows in Premiere Pro is a huge huge plus and I cannot wait to try it when macOS eventually drops.

Everything I love about the Pro will be improved with this latest OS. I'm most excited about the external drive support and file manager capabilities. I never thought I'd use an iPad to edit on the go but I've been doing some research about LumaFusion and it seems as if that reality is already here!

Sidenote, I haven't tried it yet but I heard you can edit multiple 4K streams in that app, something even my 2019 MBP struggles to do in Premiere.

I'm even more excited about next year's iPadOS update that will further extend on these ideas.

I plan on it. I have two pros and an iPad mini 4. I think I'll just update one pro to iPadOS first and see how that goes before I do the others.

I do photography and videography too and wondering about how all the new features will work out. I currently have no desktop, just a MBP and an iPad Pro. But I'm wondering if these features work out that maybe when I take photography trips, I can just take my iPad Pro in which case I could get an iMac desktop with more power for editing.

Looking forward to upgrading as soon as it’s out! I’ve been checking for updates regularly since about 0700 this morning UK time. I’ll never know why they don’t stagger the release by making it 10am local to spread the load on the servers.

Maybe it’s an America First policy. If so I guess that shows their inclusiveness and support of diversity only goes as far as the US coast line.
