I'm an Apple Music subscriber, not an iTunes Match Subscriber. Same issues. Thanks to all who are posting here because I was about to get super frustrated. It was spotty this week up until today when it just collapsed. I thought it was me so I did the full uninstall. Now I have no access to anything. Have tried all the log in/out, reinstall, etc. Nothing works. As a Windows user it's always hard to justify dealing with iTunes when YouTube and Spotify actually have working and spry interfaces. This is just disappointing.

Thank you to everyone that has posted here and who has submitted feedback to Apple. I have a case number and have submitted feedback. The more people that report the error, the greater the chance that Apple will fix Match and iCloud Music Library (for both iTunes Match and Apple Music subscribers).

My iTunes Match subscription renews today. I left it active. I figure it's worth $25/year for iCloud Music Library, and I am hoping this issue gets resolved within the next week or so. With more and more people reporting this issue, I am hoping it gets addressed soon. Apple is a big company. I have no idea how things work there. In my mind, if their own employees used all of their services and would report bugs, I would think problems could be addressed faster. Maybe there's a long list of bugs and they prioritize which ones to address.

So I’ve been on the phone to Apple for about an hour twice today. The first rep asked me to reinstall the new iOS on my Mac which I did. No success so I called back. I was passed on to a senior advisor who said that because I may have interrupted a sync mid-flow and my library is 300GB, it will now have to sync my entire library from scratch despite the fact I’m only trying to add one album? He said to leave it running with the approximate wait time being (I kid you not) 86 hours based on my upload speed. He said that after that, my next sync should return to normal. Surely there’s no way? I’ve had Match for about 2-3 years and had plenty of syncs interrupted and never had this much issue. I don’t care about a quick fix but it would be nice for Apple to just be like, yeah there’s a bug and we will look into it.

Those so called advisors are a joke.
Most of them don‘t have a clue and all of the bs about reinstalling an OS when a lots of customers have problems is nothing more than bad supervisors who do not qualify them to be able to pass those complaints through to back end support.

Apple is like any other big company: same bs as everywhere else but good looking and well construced products. That‘s basically all.

On the Apple Support Forum, there is a theory that "unmatched" songs get uploaded at a reasonable rate and "matched" songs get stuck where they are identified as matched but that doesn't get communicated back to the software except at a very slow rate. To test this, I made a smart playlist to include all songs I added after Jul 22. I made a note of the number of Matched, Uploaded, and Waiting songs today at 12:26 pm my time. I figure I can check back once or twice a day and see how those numbers change over time. If all of the "waiting" songs get flipped over to "matched", albeit at a slow rate, then the hypothesis is correct. If some or many of the "waiting" songs become "uploaded" then maybe it's the opposite. Anyway, I figure there's some value in making the smart playlist and see what's happening to those songs. I won't add any new songs until I see how this plays out.

That's it! I just added some music I knew Apple couldn't match and it uploaded almost immediately. Matching is the problem here.

I still have a feeling it’s when they activated lossless. And the matched songs just mess around as most are matched to a lossless one. This seems to coincide with when that update was released too for me. But yes ones that aren’t available to match it’ll upload within seconds but matched ones it just hangs on.

After Matching not working at all for many days, Matching is occurring in my library slowly--at about a rate of 1 song per minute. This is an improvement, but it's still not working properly. I have many, many more songs that are "Waiting".

Still broken. So frustrating. Matching is glacial for problem tracks, uploading is not happening.

iTunes Match is currently an exercise in frustration. Sorry you're getting no matches at all. I have almost 2,000 to match, so maybe only certain songs are getting matched. I have another theory, though. I can't be certain, but it seems like one has to quit the Music app after about 5 minutes then reopen it and tell it to "Update iCloud Library" again to get a few more matches. No idea if this helps or not. I feel bad if I am sending people down a futile road. The iTunes Match is definitely not working properly.

I was slowly getting matches, but as of 11 am I am no longer getting any matches. Here is a summary of the iCloud Status of songs over the course of approximately 3 hours. I made a smart playlist of songs added since Jul 22 and sorted by iCloud Status. Out of 1,792 "waiting", 215 got matched and 7 got uploaded this morning. It was matching at a rate of 1.3 songs per minute, but now it's stopped. iTunes Match is just not working properly.

Hi, everyone! Since misery loves company, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this problem right now. ? I've gone through the thread, and it looks like my experience is the same.

iTunes Match was working fine for me until today. For the past several days, I've been adding or replacing my J-Pop tracks from CDs. [Basically re-encoding them.]

So what I'd do is, if my previous track was of inferior quality, I'd remove it from my Cloud Music Library using my iPhone, then replace the file on my MacBook by ripping it from the CD [as AAC or Apple Lossless], then add it back to my Cloud Music Library. That's been working for me the past several days, until today.

I saw that one J-Pop album I have synced [as uploaded tracks] was finally out on Apple Music. That meant that if I forced iTunes Match to match that album again, the chances of matching were greater. So I removed the album from my Cloud Music Library and added it back. Big mistake, given the current situation.

Currently only one track from the 11-track album has been matched. The rest still have the "Waiting…" status.

So I think the theory about this affecting only matched tracks seems to be true. Because, until this album, all my tracks didn't match and had to be uploaded. This entire album seems like it matched, so maybe that's why it's taking forever.

It's worth noting that the tracks in the album are all in Apple Lossless, but I've never had a problem with matching Apple Lossless tracks before.

This is my experience as well. Its painful but it works. For now my strategy has been to subscribe to Apple Music, since I've still got a 3 month trial offered to me. With that I can stream the stuff that is on Apple Music and slowly upload the stuff that isn't. If at 3 months the situation is the same, well, then that's just how its going to be then until Apple officially shutters iTunes Match, which this situation tells me isn't too far off as it is.

Will be mentioning this thread and update the group when we’re done.

Please mention these two on their own forums too:

You might mention that all these threads report the same thing, on Mac High Sierra to Big Sur, and on Windows 10. See if they can still find a way to make you think it's YOU who has the problem!

My remaining tracks finally got matched this afternoon and it uploaded a non-matched track, but it took about 2 hours to match 5 tracks, so it's still pretty broken compared to how long it takes normally. Hopefully they are working on fixing whatever the problem is.

Adding another voice here (I've also submitted Feedback to apple and said I have the issue on the Apple discussion page).

Of about 18 songs trying to add to my library, in the past 24 hours I've had 2 successfully upload and zero match. I removed all the ones that wouldn't match and tried to add just one of them. Going on 6 hours now of non-stop "matching your music" and it has still yet to match just a single song by itself. Infuriating that Apple is refusing to acknowledge this is an issue.

Of course the apple advisor didn’t call me yesterday but called me this morning when I don’t have time to talk. I did notice that several albums got matched today and some songs that aren’t matched too. She gave me her direct line in case the issue isn’t resolved tomorrow.

edit: as I finished typing this all my remaining songs were matched. Added more to test, but it doesn’t seem like it’s happening super quick like the before times.

I subscribe to Apple Music and most of their music will play fine, but any of my "Uploaded" tracks get skipped unless I click on them like 3 times. It will stall for like 15 seconds, and then eventually play. But this is incredibly frustrating.

So any track with a "Cloud Status: Uploaded" has trouble playing on all my devices, while the ones with "Cloud Status: Matched" are fine.

I'm not about to re-upload all my friggin albums. >:-(

A large amount of songs got through last night. This morning it’s slow but will see if the rest come through

Working a LOT better now. Make sure to go to File > Library and update the iCloud Music Library from there rather than right clicking tracks and adding them that way.

Don't have any additional data points to add. Experiencing what has already been posted. Match stuck on 'Waiting'.

As I type this I see no improvements.
