They don’t have any, most just pass opinion off as fact.

Here are some stats on iMessage:
In 2014 cook disclosed that there were 40 billion iMessage notifications a day.

in 2016, cue disclosed that there were 200,000 iMessages a second or 63 quadrillion messages a year.

iMessage for me is not the sole reason for me either as I do use WhatsApp too. It’s handy to be able to reply to messages on my iPad and watch though.

I just prefer iOS for its clean interface, minimal fiddling to get it to do what I want and the fact it stays pretty fluid and snappy for the duration I own each iPhone. I came from Android back in 2012 when the iPhone 5 was released and I’ve kept an eye on Android over the years to see if there are any game changing features that can draw me back. This hasn’t happened and to be honest I’m not even going to bother researching it when I upgrade next month as I’m happy with another iPhone.

The vast majority of my friends, family and colleagues use iPhones too and having one just makes communicating so much easier. The main things I like about iOS is:

iMessage
FaceTime
Apple Watch syncing
Photo stream (Between friends and family)
Find Friends

No. 36 is the Achilles heel isnt it? iMessage has downgraded service to your Android contacts.

It can use wifi pairing also. When when phone is in the same wifi network, it will auto-pair with one or more computer. Plus is you can use all phone services/apps from any of your computer (Mac or PC). Another plus is you don't need to use same login for all your devices/apps for it to work unlike Apple eco-system.

I can do all these with Google. Not sure what is the big deal here.
It has to, and at least it WORKS!

I will admit if you're an Android user WhatsApp is one of the best apps you can get in that platform. Thats the reason that most people use it, but nowadays there are better apps like Google Allo. That app is essentially iMessaging for Android, heck you can use it in you're PC also.

I will say this and only this the iPhone and the Mac does not need to be connected to the internet to: pass files thru Air Drop, sync with Safari, Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Notes, Reminders and Messaging. It does all of that thru Bluetooth. You can access all of these features in PC also but you have to be connected to the internet via the iCloud website.

Log in's? at least for Mac you only need to log in with you're Apple ID when you first boot it up, when you get something from the Mac App Store and when you're downloading an update. In the iPhone you have Touch ID and Face ID that make the experience of buying something in the iPhone App Store more simple.

THIS IS MY ANSWER TO THE LAST THING WRITTEN IN THE QUOTE
Yes you can do SOME of these with Google but theres little things like you need to be connected to the internet, that make it less convenient than the competitor that is Apple.

ALL of this is my opinion.

I would say wechat is more popular in Asia though.

If any of my contacts would use iMessage anymore I’d use it but they all want to use what’sApp.

You have to be connected to the internet to buy anything from the Apple app store or iTunes. Same thing with the Google Playstore. Both platforms...if you want to make a purchase...you have to be connected to the internet for authentication.

Sorry its that I write my replies like paragraphs, that was referring to the last quote that he said that "google can do all of these things"

Yes I do understand that to buy apps you need to be connected to the internet. What I was trying to say was that you don't need to be connected to the internet to sync with Safari, Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Notes, Reminders and Messaging.
When you open those apps in you're iPhone the Mac will automatically show a icon in the left corner that you're using that app and when you press the icon you can continue what you were doing from the iPhone to the Mac, and you can use this while you cont have internet in you're iPhone or Mac.

Asia is a very different market compared to the us and Europe. Even Google has to offer a forked android os in China that doesn’t use google search or google services.

No idea. Everyone I know or work with use the iPhone, FaceTime and iMessage, Even google and Samsung employees (they pretty much all use a Mac and Apple Watch as well;)).

Why spend nearly £1k on a phone and not use one of its best features that works seamlessly on all its devices?
It’s kind of like not using gmail or gmaps on an android phone.

I did not know that and I have been using iphones and MBPs.... iPads for a few years. I will have to test that out! :)
So all you need is Bluetooth enabled for them sync?

Your talking about a feature call Continuity, it’s fantastic.

Pretty much, but they both must be using the same Apple ID and they must be in the latest softwares that means iOS 11 and MacOS HighSierra.

Because of the ecosystem. Because of the way my other Apple devices work together. I can’t use an Apple Watch with and android phone. Most Android tablets are not as good as the iPad. I don’t want a windows laptop. I have bought so many TV shows and movies from iTunes over the years. For guaranteed updates. There’s a lot more to the iPhone than a messaging service.

Not at all. I stick with iOS because it's the best overall platform when it comes to performance, security, privacy, ecosystem, apps and support. Everything else isn't all that critical to me. If customization is what you need (although I don't get it), Android is for you. Apple will eventually add options but who knows when.

Don't get me wrong. I really like my iPhone X, but I don't love it. Mainly because I am getting board with iOS and the lack of customization. However, iMessage is the main thing keeping me on the iPhone (even though I am fully in the Apple ecosystem).
iMessages for sure but also iOS in general. My wife smashed her last Android phone as it frustrates her to death. And if there's one thing in life we want to avoid, it is an upset wife.

Yes, and imessage is part of apples ecosystem.

You have tried it. But i have read a few posts where some switchers haven’t even turned it on. Which is weird.

Are android tablets still a thing?

ALL of this is my opinion.

I agree with some of your points. Using Apple is more seamless (in terms of not needing to install additional software / internet). But the caveat is all-or-nothing. Everything must be on (overly expensive) apple hardware/software to get the functionality you are referring to. Otherwise it is just nothing.

You can have the similar or even better capability on Android but at the expense of needing to set it up first some of the time. But if you are tech savvy enough to navigate through monster like Itunes or use iCloud/continuity, then there is no reason to feign "too difficult".

Apple approach is to lock you in to their expensive eco-system. Apple take on certain capabilities may not be the best or more functional than Android. For example continuity. It is limited to Apple software only. SideSync (or other similar 3rd party apps) uses a different and simpler non-proprietary approach and yet achieve similar or better(imo) outcome. I can pair one or more of my phones with multiple computers (PC or Mac) and tablets in my house. I click one of the paired phone icons on the PC/Mac and I can share files or continue a task on the phone or run ANY apps (not just apple software) in the phone from the PC/Mac. For example, I can post a tweet or whatsapp or even play a game in the phone on the PC/Mac. I dont have to switch login ID on PC/Mac depending on the phone I am connected to at the moment unlike Apple continuity. I too, dont have to do hand-off like continuity.

And coupled SideSync with Android filesystem (with local, mapped network and cloud drives) plus Google services, I think you get much more capabilities than the closed proprietary Apple eco-system.

Dude are you shilling for someone or what? All your posts read like ads trying to convince people that Apple is c***.

Personally I use Whatsapp the most due as others have said of it being cross-platform, even with contacts who have iPhones.
[doublepost=1532424943][/doublepost]
Those are in iCloud :)

And iCloud has a history of leaking huge amount of those out. And history has a tendency to repeat again.
Source please, put up or shut up.

BTW privacy matters.

He’s talking about the celebrity photo leaks which came from their iCloud accounts getting hacked.

iCloud wasn’t hacked.
Celebrities logins were comprised.

That Poster is spreading fud again and he is being called out.
I know it was because they had very weak and obvious passwords but it was reported in the media as a hack.

Those involved have been subject to criminal proceedings.

No. The poster is spreading fud

One it was both iCloud and gmail that the hacker accessed.

“Herrera used their usernames and passwords to illegally access their iCloud and Gmail accounts.”

Two neither iCloud or gmail was hacked, they used a phishing scheme to gain access to both gmail and iCloud accounts.

“Herrera engaged in a phishing scheme to obtain usernames and passwords for his victims. From April 27, 2013, until the end of August 2014, he sent emails to victims that appeared to be from security accounts of Internet service providers and encouraged the victims to send him their usernames and passwords.”

Media is calling It “Celebgate”.

It was sensationalised in a lot of places as a hack by most of the general media. Obviously tech focused media reported it correctly

Mostly tabloids and look at the date of your article.

Both GMAIL and iCloud were compromised using a phishing scheme.

To assert anything else at this point would be spreading fud and it’s against forum rules.

No I’m not disputing the facts of the case I’m just saying I can understand how someone may have that impression as that’s how it was widely reported by the media at the time. Remember these were celebs so it would have been widely reported in the tabloids because that’s what they write about, celebs.

Doesn’t really matter how old the articles are. The point I was making was that it was incorrectly reported by the media at the time. However I think you know that.

Back on topic, iMessage is the only thing I contemplated when switching from an iPhone. In the end, it's not an issue.
