For me Macs are worth it. I used Both a dell xps 13 and a surface book. The surface book was nice, but heavy and thick, being someone who is on the go a lot this doesn’t work for me, it also didn’t have TB3 
The XPS had the worst battery life! I’m talking 4 to 5 hours max on “batter saver” mode. And don’t get me started on the dells missclicks. About 1 in every 5 clicks it wouldn’t register and frustrate me. I couldn’t do it. I immediately went back to the thin, light, and powerful MacBook Pro, which does have TB3. It’s not windows that bothers me, I have a gaming PC at home which I love, but it’s the poor hardware, and design choices. And in reality most windows computers that are spec for spec what the MacBook Pro is, they are the same price, or almost.
