finances dont belong in tech discussions anyway!
I did switch from an iPhone 6 Plus to the S7 Edge. The only smart phones I ever had were iPhones starting with the 4s. We also have iPads, but will stay with Apple for tablets. Here is why I switched:
1. I wanted a change, which iPhone was not giving
2. I wanted a smaller overall phone with the same 5.5" screen.
3. I wanted water and dust resistance.
4. I wanted microSD expandability.
5. I did not want an even thinner device for my next smartphone.
6. I like the flexibility of Android.
7. I like the ability to put widgets on the home screen.

yeah the upgrades don't seem to be much to shout about..faster, better camera, waterproof but seems wireless charging isn't coming til 2017.I don't think you have anything to worry about.. The iPhone 7 is rumored to not have a headphone jack
Those from 2013 as well?Sucks that my iPhone 5s can't get cursor movements via 3d touch.
But nearly any Android phone -- flagships for sure -- can update the Google keyboard and get all the new editing gestures including cursor movements.

Not via 3D Touch but it would certainly be possible via software if Apple chose to do so. I have gesture navigation on my iPad and it doesn't have 3D Touch.

Ah, I thought the comparison was to similar era devices, thus the question. Then what gives, Apple? :T

No clue.
Devices from 2013 can't install the Google keyboard from the play store? I genuinely don't know.
I sure hope they deliver on that! I am sure I will jump to the IP7 plus.http://www.phonearena.com/news/Tim-...e-things-you-dont-know-you-need-today_id80711
Tim Cook says next iPhone will introduce innovative things we didn't know we needed.
Yes, please. Bring it on, Apple.
Cook appeared on CNBC where he said the next-generation of iPhones would be quite impressive:
"We have great innovation in the pipeline, like new iPhones that will incent you and other people that have iPhones today to upgrade to new iPhones... We are going to give you things that you can't live without, that you just don't even know you need today...You will look back and wonder 'how did I live without this?"

Doesn't he say this every year? I can't wait for them to tell me what I needed.....that I didn't know I needed....
Wow, never seen apple do this before. He basically told anyone that's looking to buy an iPhone to wait until the next one.http://www.phonearena.com/news/Tim-...e-things-you-dont-know-you-need-today_id80711

I'm quiet because I feel bad Apple only earned 40b last quarter; which regardless of market share is probably more than all other manufacturers combined made selling phones and services. You guys and your ilk made me lol at that remark. No doubt a result of everyone talking about Apple's latest quarter. Tim Cook has to quell people's concerns and fears that Apple isn't innovating.
Do I get to say "I told you so" again to I7guy and his ilk? They're all so quiet now.
It's not too late, Apple. Bring it, this Fall.

Well it means apple is going to be around for a long time with these same conversations going on until the cows the home.Tell me again how I can use this iPhone feature you call profit?
Don't be so bitter about being wrong. This might mean a better iPhone.
That's quite a leap. Are you the worst type of critic? Ladies and gentlemen I give you someone who wants a someone to think and act like them. It takes all kinds I guess. And what do you say or do if Apple has another record breaking quarter and you still don't like their products? Lol.The conversation has moved on.
Most people here and elsewhere are ready for Apple to up their game. Heck, even Tim Cook had to come out and publically allay concerns. It isn't just a few people here on some subforum complaining and nitpicking the imperfections of the iPhone. There is real concern to be had; things people have pointed out long before Apple announced their latest quarter (do you get this point? It should show you that sales/profits can't be the only thing we look at). Saying these things is not the same as saying Apple is doomed.
You weren't wrong? You can really say that with a straight face even though your favorite metric (sales/profits) has shown its first crack? That was your go-to argument. Apple's reliable sales and profits was your critique-shielding argument for nearly everything here. It was a weak argument then, and weaker still now. No wonder you're so quiet. And yet you still can't admit you're wrong about whether or not Apple should be competing harder.
Not much can be said to someone like this.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you, once again, the worse kind of Apple fan.
