-51 dBm to -75 dBm: Very high signal. It implies maximum speed of navigation and coverage to the maximum in our device.
-76 dBm to -90 dBm: Medium-high signal. It allows to use the data and the voice without problems, the speed of the internet can be slightly resentful.
-91 dBm to -105 dBm: Medium-low signal. It allows to use voice and data, the speed of data transmission is affected.
> 105 dBm: Low signal. They begin to have difficulties in the voice and the transmission of data is slow and with cuts.

cases to those with working XS Max iPhones. I’ll give these up to those watching this thread first come, first serve mailed in the US. If no one wants them, I’ll put them in the buy/sell section tomorrow. If you want any or all, PM me your choices, name and address and I’ll get them out in the mail to you today.

Also, got to say that TOZO has the best possible customer service. I emailed them my story of returning the Max and getting an X as I wanted to return the Max cases. They told me they would send me three cases for the X and just to give the Max cases away. I get that the cost of return shipping is probably more than their manufacturing cost - but still super nice of them.

See above:

1. TOZO Clear gel TPU - opened only to look at it
2. TOZO Ultra thin white frost- box never opened
3. TOZO Ultra thin black frost - box never opened
4. Bennald- thin black TPU wIth exact speaker holes - unopened
5. Bennald - same as 4 but lightly used (5 days) - still looks like new with no scratches

Update - these are all spoken for.

Happy to say they are all heading out in the mail today to cover some good working Maxes. LOL

So you decided to go with the X instead of the XR? I am on the fence about what to do and have been following this thread from the beginning. There is pretty much a compromise any way you look at it. Even if you get an XS or max that doesn’t have the connectivity issues you will probably still have the off axis tint shift... I’ve been to 2 separate VZW stores and Best Buy and see it on all the demo units. Not sure if the PWM would bother me on this display or not. With the XR you have the less capable camera setup and possible tint shift as well. It’s a first world problem for sure but at these price points it is frustrating that we just can’t hand over the money and get on in life with no real concerns about the choice we made. I’m too buried in the ecosystem to leave at the moment but have several 6’s in the family that could benefit from an upgrade.

I’ve just been reading this forum. And trying to find the thing that’s common. And it just seems that it’s the AT&T users. More specifically. The guy 2 pages back that was getting 150 down on T-Mobile. And 1/3 or less down with an att sim in the same phone.
It’s not just AT&T.

I’m on Verizon. My first Max had cellular and WiFi issues. My second Max (which I still have) seems to have no issues. I tested both in a wide variety of circumstances.

I’ve been following this thread and the others like it on Macrumors Forums and there are plenty of Verizon users who’ve reported issues, and some T Mobile folks, too.

I don't think that is the right scale for LTE (it looks like a scale for GSM). There is no way anyone is getting an LTE signal below -75 unless perhaps you are standing ON a tower! Even on my LTE Network Extender, I only get a signal of around -85 when I'm 10-15 feet from it.

Here is a scale I saw several years ago and copied/pasted from a website into a text document:

Better than -88dBm RSRP is a strong signal
Between -89dBm and -96dBm is a very good signal
Between -97dBm and -105dBm is good
Between -106dBm and -112dBm is fair
Worse than -113dBm RSRP is poor

I went out of town yesterday used my 8+ I am getting the same bars on it as I am on my XS Max so I wonder what Apple did with the last update as both phones have the same IOS and I have used the same SIM card which was replaced. I also had my daughter and granddaughter checked their phones on Sunday they have the 7+ and 8+ their phones are doing the same thing dropping from LTE to 3G so it makes me think this could be resolved by software.

I checked the prices on the X, XR, XS, XS Max the prices in Canada are 1494.00 X, 1229.00 XR, 1589.00 XS, 1729.00 XS Max all for the 256 GB so I am thinking I may keep the XS Max as the prices are ridiculous unless you get it on a plan but I won't have that option for another year and can sell my 8+ for 800.00 today which is 300.00 more than what I can get for a trade in and recoup almost 1/2 the cost of the XS Max.

I was really torn. Felt like I was going backwards. But for me, the cellular connectivity was of utmost importance and from what others said on this forum, the X was a sound choice for me. So far I’m loving it. It seems so much better in every way with connectivity - WiFi (longer range), cellular (connects and stays connected as my prior 6S Plus did), Bluetooth (connects every time to car or earbuds without having to go through pairing mode again).

I feel with the X, I can just enjoy it and not be constantly irritated by connectivity issues.

My daughter has the XR coming on Friday. So who knows, I might like hers also. But I am all set with new cases for the X and everything is working good so I’m content.

The problem I'm seeing is that when using carplay, i'm not getting any signal strength indications that change. I stream audio all the time, I'm familiar with the weaker signal areas, but I'm getting drops more frequently, in addition to those known areas. But, the signal strength indicator does not change. It will stay full strength. So I get that the signal can vary and I fully expect my streaming audio to not be 100% perfect. But what's frustrating is that I get a stream drop, but the indicator says 100% strength. That's very frustrating to me. I have to unlock my phone while driving to get an accurate reading.

Yep, posted a thread on this right after the Xs and Max were released, not a single reply. Posted again in this thread about the issue, nobody seems to notice. Signal will update on your radio for about 30 seconds after the screen shuts off, then it displays the same thing regardless of what the actual signal is. I hope it's just a display issue, but it does make you wonder if the modem isn't actively seeking towers when the phone is in standby mode as a part of power saving issues, which could potentially be causing some of the dropped signal issues people are seeing if it's occurring mainly when the display is off.

Are you sure it’s not Bluetooth dropping out?
