Guys is it really that bad or it is subjective thing like the yellow screen problem which repeats year after year?

I am on Qualcomm iPhone X and I am having perfect reception. If this issue is really what it is then I will happily defer upgrade till end of 2019. I hope no one is exaggerating and Fandroids are not adding Petrol to the fire with their trolling.

I'm a UK user - sadly with the same experience. Having spent the best part of a morning setting up my new Xs Max, I am sorely tempted to send it straight back and revert to my iPhone X. Three bars and decent reception before, now one bar and occasionally none and text messages are not arriving.
Apple will say this is a non issue with the research we did over the last five years 90% our customers only use data so this isn't a problem. haahah

Not trying to be funny or anything (very keen to buy it myself) but does the signal drop when we 'hold' the phone?

Full signal here at work, I haven’t noticed any issues so far.

Did you use your phone outside? did you try to call outside while being in your car/by feet?

I’m concerned...

Test results below from my Max alongside my work phone (Vodafone Android device).

Same network and no case on either, chose the same server for both.

XS Max

Down 16.1
Up 3.87
Ping 35ms

Smart Platinum 7

Down 34.8
Up 7.31
Ping 28ms

Not happy at all, £1100 for a device to have half the download speed of a cheap android device ?

Stepped outside and the Max result doubled while the other phone stayed roughly the same, seems to be an issue with the reception inside buildings. Not great...

That would confirm bad antenna design!

And we have to notice, that the X already was worse than the 8 Plus!

My reception/speed on AT&T was exactly the same between the 8+ and Xs max. Then just yesteday we switched to T-Mobile and so far my signal strength and speeds are better than AT&T.
