Interesting. iPhone X has been my favorite iPhone next to my 7 Plus. But the only negative has been cellular reception. If it wasn't for WiFi calling, I would almost say it would be unusable.
I have never seen more 4G displays since LTE was added.
I thought it was because I got a one of the bad modem versions but this thread has me worried.

OK guys just came back from my local Apple store after a 2 mile trip.
Replaced my Max phone for another new one.
This one still showing the same issue 2 bar signal even tried the old sim card from my iPhone X same thing.
This phone is going back for a full refund back to my iPhone X till apple fix this.

Don't worry Apple will remove the signal bars in ios 13.
To be honest Apple did remove the last usage/standby full charge info ios 12.

if this is a hardware problem I would rather have a note 9 for a year. might be fun anyway to try something different.

I definitely don't want an unreliable phone for when I travel......

First day back at work and I can also tell I am getting a 1-2 less bars and slower LTE speeds whereas on my X would be much faster. Big problem brewing here

Signal @ my workplace getting 1-2 bars iPhone XS MAX
Signal @ my workplace getting 4-5 bars iPhone X
Work mates phone iPhone 8 Plus getting 4 bars signal
all on same network
Download speed slow too.

I've also been noticing this, slower LTE speeds, worse reception, I had to restart my phone entirely yesterday because I was getting 0 down.

On the way to work I noticed a drastic change from what I normally got on my Iphone 7 on average 2 bars less and even had a searching for signal spot. I am returning mine today !

It’s a good thing my Apple Watch 4 is coming today to pair with this turd. A lot of good that’s gonna do when I have to use my Note 9.

I know that I have 2 weeks but I don't feel like a carrier update can fix a bad antenna and modem. This is a hardware problem
