This is happening again on my M2 iPad Pro after 17.5 update….😩
These Macrumors threads were where I first noticed that yellow smearing on my iPad Pro; the issue was worse here than most other sites.I think it was on my M1 version. So seeing your post I’ve gone through multiple pages on Macrumors with My M2 and no smearing at all. So I’m happy. The issue was software as you can go back through this specific thread to see when it was fixed. I was one of the first to post here about the problem. But all good so far.

I went back through these posts and saw that ios 16.2 fixed the smearing issue. It is still fixed for me on my M2. You could try playing around with True Tone and dark mode. The issue was worse with those enabled plus having a dark setting enabled on sites such as Macrumors. That’s why it was here that I had first noticed it, but no longer.

My iPad Pro M2 smeared when scrolled when I bought it at introduction and did it constantly. No OS update had any effect and it would always smear the same.

It only happens when dark mode and night shift are on. Text smears red. Happens on white backgrounds too just not as obvious.

That was how it behaved when I had the issue. 16.2 fixed it but until then turning dark mode and night shift off was the only way I could deal with it. Fortunately it has not reoccurred, fingers crossed 🙏
