I seriously can't see anything wrong in that picture. I'd be afraid to return it because the "new" one might have something that would REALLY bother me......like a loose home button. I hate those!

I mean....I think I can. It looks like the bend is slightly off center more toward the upper part of the Apple logo. I admit I might just be seeing things because I'm being told they're there.
It’s definitely there, when I place a ruler across the screen I can see it but that didn’t come out at all in pics. This thing is running great and I’m happy with it. I usually upgrade every year anyway so I’m not going to sweat it.

Meh, they are cheap as chips. If it bends buy a new one or get apple care. First world problem!
Check out the Kindle forums and you will see that isn't true. There are many discussions and complaints about screens with uneven color, uneven lighting and cones and shadows where the LEDs are located.
I'll be getting the otterbox defender when it comes out for the 10.5". I will sometimes fall asleep on my phones and judging at how easy these tablets can bend I will not take any chances. I'm a big guy.
So do all iPads - not just the new ones - have this curve to some extent?

Here's the thing. Is the screen otherwise acceptable? Yes it's slightly bent/curved but it otherwise a minor issue compared to the display lottery.
My iPad Pros (Both 1st gen bought from different stores and 1 year apart had the same exact amount of straightness/non-straightness)... aluminum and glass with such a large device will NOT be perfectly even. If you do find a supposedly "perfect" one, it won't stay that way. Go grab an iPad Pro 12.9" and a measuring stick and see how straight it "might be" and record it, then go and and hold it for just a day or use it for a few weeks then put the same measuring stick by it and you'll see a difference. These devices will have some slight "give" because.... science.
Seriously guys/gals, I see some actually defective iPads y'all have posted and I'd return those for sure... but one that is 1, 2, or 3 degrees off of "perfect straightness" is NOT abnormal AT ALL. Aluminum and Glass are meant to be ever so flexible so they don't shatter by picking them up. Now warping or bent (meaning a good amount out or inward that is clearly off by a large amount) is a defect and should be returned, but anything with a slight or subtle bend is normal. Go look at any Best buy store or Apple store and there will be plenty of imperfect iPads.
We hear things like: "meticulously manufactured" and "absolute perfection" from Apple ads, keynotes, and spokespersons so we think they will be free of any imperfection... but that's just not reality.

Can't believe after reading this thread i actually checked mine lol. Going by eye it is straight as a dye but i am not going to lay it on a table and try and shove a feeler guage under it. I must say though that if it was bent as seen by the eye it would send it back as the cheapest 10.5 in Australia is $979, so anything less than perfect would be unaccepatable to me.
I've literally joined up as mine is exactly the same as this. I don't know whether to return it or if I'll be laughed out of the store and part of me is thinking the bend is just amplified in my head as I spent £700+ on the device and now I'm paranoid it's not perfect.
