There is always a thread like this for every Apple product--I find a lot of these stories seriously hard to believe.

For all we know it might be intentional but I highly doubt it. Just wouldn't make sense from a manufacturing standpoint to engineer a slight curve.

The iPad Pro has a very slight curve so when you the back on a table it doesn’t wobble from the camera hump. It’s very simple without that curve it would wobble quite a bit due to the protruding camera bump.

I found mine bent today. All I did was keep it in the leather sleeve and in my bag with my Nintendo Switch and a friend asked to borrow my iPad to check his email. I noticed that the sccreen was strangely warped and it was bent. I freaked out at first but I gave it a gentle push and it went back to its original shape. The thing is, it’ll be a hassle for me to go to the Apple service center and get this fix for now because I need my iPad. I’ll just get it fixed or swapped at a later time.

It’s alarming that this is happening now because I have never thought that storing an iPad with a Switch would bend the iPad so much that it looked like someone just sat on it. I never sat on the bag, or put any pressure by laying on it in any way. The iPad has gone so thin that it’s no longer the durable machines we used to know. But at least it bends back, so, there’s that.

My 9.7 Pro is bent, when set on a flat table it has a 1/6th of an inch arc in the middle.

Anyone with a recent purchase have this curve? I noticed this on my Air 2 when I first bought it and swapped out 4-5 times and they were all the same, never really got over it tbh. Everyone else was having the same issue with the Air 2 at the time and it seems this has been the way it's been since the Air 2.

I got my new iPad Pro 10.5 on Tuesday from Apple in Brighton (after my previous 6th Gen iPad suffered from dust under the screen) and it too has a slight curve. I took it into the store today and showed it to one of the senior geniuses who said categorically there should be no curve, it is a QC issue and that I could return it for another.

It works well and I am worried that if I swap it I may get one with other problems.. my work IPad Air 2 has a slight curve and has never been a problem.

I think I will see how it goes over the next week and will take it back if there are any issues.

Well just discovered today that my iPad is bent. Has always been in a hard case.

I'm beginning to wonder if it's because of the case that it gets bent. The metal expands under heat, but the case restricts expansion, causing it to bend.

Wow to the picture above! I really want to buy the iPad 10.5 but I’m worried that in time it will warp by itlself. It seems that Apple messed up the thermal design on this iPad. It doesn’t seem to cool properly thus causing a gradual warp in the casing..someone one tell me otherwise.

The fact that almost no one has ever mentioned nor heard of this tells you otherwise.

So unless it becomes a full blown “gate” problem, people will just sweep it under the rug and chalk it up to a small manufacturing defect? Come on. This is disturbing that a device this expensive has issues like this. I miss the old iPad 2 to 4 design. Those have never bent or warped out of shape for whatever reason.

Lesson: Buy Apple care+ and use it when the time comes (another $50 for each incident)

I was about to buy one but decided against it after seeing one that’s bent at Best Buy. Even the store employee agreed that he sees the warp on the display iPad. So damn. I guess wait a year or two until an iPhone X iPad design style comes out. Going back under my rock now.

lol this is bendgate 2.0! Why is everyone ignoring this problem like it doesn’t exist? This should be the most viewed and discussed thread on this forum section of “iPad”. I’m surprised it’s not a class action suit by now. I bought a 12” MacBook instead of the iPad Pro.
