Everyone who is stuck on the Charger > Itunes screen. You need to reinstall iOS. Im doing it now, and i will wait a couple of days to get iOS 10.
How did you reinstall iOS? I tried both options thru iTunes (reset and update) and keep getting unknown error.

Next I'll reboot iTunes, maybe it has something to do with the iTunes update.

If you connect your phone to your pc. Open iTunes. It will reconize your phone. Than, there is a option somewhere called 'restore'. Click that. :)

Darn. That's what I tried a few times. I even tried a different cable. I'll try again later from a rebooted mac. And if that doesn't work, I'll try the reinstall of iTunes.

Windows 10 and it recognizes my phone until the last step. Uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled and now waiting to see what happens. This really is a cluster. Just like the last big update. You'd think they could avoid these issues by now. Hope uninstalling iTunes didn't lose anything important for me.

My phone was wiped.

I've got everything backed up to the cloud. Was mostly worried about something on my computer's hard drive that I might need that was removed. But I can't imagine there was as I never use iTunes anymore for anything.
[doublepost=1473809213][/doublepost]computer still can't find my phone. well i'm officially screwed.

No probs here at 8:20pm east coast. Did a plugged in update, so iTunes would auto backup before install.

Restarting my mac seems to now allow me to 'RESTORE'. I did do an encrypted backup and it restored from that (it confirmed the version) and to my surprise, came back as IOS 10.

I would recommend restarting your mac or PC after updating iTunes before doing the ios10 update. I suspect that was the issue.

Finally seem to have gotten out of this mess. Spent an hour with Apple chat and had to uninstall all of my Apple software and reinstall, had to change my Host file back to default, and had to try two different cables and three different USB ports and finally got a successful restore. Not sure ultimately what the issue was, but encountered iTunes errors 17 and 12 and my computer refusing the recognize my phone. Just as big a hassle as when I updated to 9. Won't ever do this again. Lost a whole day.

Bricked my 6s during update at work, I will go home and try again.
Turns out the iTunes version that I was using was out of date and did not support iOS10 restore. And iTunes didn't update when I ran Apple software update. And iTunes didn't give warning about restoring to iOS10 is not supported for older iTunes. It just bricked my phone without a warning.

I had to restore to 9.3.5 and then did an OTA update to iOS10.

I tried to install iTunes on another PC with Windows 10, iTunes didn't want to install not matter what I tried. I gave up.
