Should only take my crappy computer 3 or 4 more hours to download the latest version of iTunes. And then we'll see if iTunes fixes my phone or if I have to restore. Good times.

Didn't do anything for about an hour when update stucced/freezed while installing, issue cleares itself

this may also happen when updating with itunes:

itunes may ask you couple of times to update your device... althought it is already downloading the file.

then it may say that the updating failed (it is still downloading!!!), just igonere it.

when the file is downloaded, click the update button.

totally fked up!

Count me in as well - I started my downloads at 9:59am :) I had 2 iPads work fine (mini2, mini4), iPhone6+ worked, and it's still downloading the watch. Pro 12.9 crapped out like everyone else's. I'm one of the ones that doesn't have a working Mac computer at home with an iTunes that recognizes these new iPads. Luckily I'm at work with an understanding boss - just downloaded iTunes, downloaded ios10 2.25G. We'll see, download just finished, is extracting and updating now. Glad I did this at work and had an understanding boss! Even if I had had a computer at home I would have been stuck - we're on satellite with a data cap.

Pro 12.9 didn't work through iTunes, now I'm stuck in the error 53 loop.

Over an hour into downloading the update in iTunes, it timed out with a network error. Now its saying 3 hours.

Phone is back in its box and getting RMA'd. Apple can get stuffed, done with them for good.

Sounds like a lot of work for something you can fix yourself...

Just wait, updating took about an hour for me, I thougt it bricked/freezed but it was still busy.

The way of updating sucks and probably the servers are overloades :(

Probably disconnecting the phone and reconnect might work. I guess after some time itunes disconnects the phone when nothing happens and to trigger the update again it needs a reconnect.

It should not download the ios10 again, even it prompts so, because it was downloaded already.

Even if i disconnected the phone, the cable itunes screen is there. It never dissapears. Even if i hold the power button, the apple logo appears, and then right after the same screen. I dont know what is going on :p I got it plugged it again.

Now after fail update over Air I installed this crappy software iTunes. It starts downloading software for iphone and I get soon:
There was a problem downloading the software for the iphone. The network connection timed out. Wtf. WTF APPLE??? I have perfectly good interneti connection over cable. Retried: same. And thats it. I need my phone back in network fast! Nobody cant call me.

I'm currently downloading ios10 for my ipad on itunes after the ota update put in it recovery mode, and every 20 minutes or so the ipad screen flashes up the apple logo and then I get the recovery mode update message again. I then just click cancel and let the file continue downloading. Is this happening to anyone else? It seems like the ipad is losing usb connection every 20 mins which is causing the update message to reappear.

Unless you get iTunes downloaded you are not going to be getting any calls.

unplugged my phone again, and kept it off for a while. When i turn it on the apple logo appears, and then right after again the cable itunes screen. I think my phone is ****ed.. Is it bricked?

I have iTunes installed. Problem starts when I download iphone software.

Going to restore my windows later back to restore point prior to iTunes install when I get my phone working again. Cant stand this system slowing program at all.

I was able to get the OTA update with no problems. It might be fixed now. Took about 20 mins OTA, when i tried to do it over iTunes the first time it stated it was going to take 40 mins, then it timed out with 9 mins to go.

I've updated iTunes and it still will not load on my iPhone 6s Plus. It just keeps cycling through. For some reason it won't even let me restore to factory settings. I hit the restore button and it tries to download the iOS again.
