I'm currently downloading ios10 for my ipad on itunes after the ota update put in it recovery mode, and every 20 minutes or so the ipad screen flashes up the apple logo and then I get the recovery mode update message again. I then just click cancel and let the file continue downloading. Is this happening to anyone else? It seems like the ipad is losing usb connection every 20 mins which is causing the update message to reappear.
Yes. Me too. Thanks for information.

When clicking (location: up-right) down arrow. Then you see download progress. It is 2,47Gb big file.

This is what i've gotten twice now, an hour into trying to update over iTunes and my phone is left semi-bricked.

Are there any dodgy links online I can use to download the file? Because Apple don't seem up to it.

If it takes 3-4 hours just to download iTunes you are out of luck as downloading iOS10 will take days.

I'm hoping the phone downloaded 10 already and getting the latest version of itunes will allow it to finish. but we'll see. have an appointment at the apple store thursday for something else. worse comes to worse i make them fix it/replace it.

Oh man...I am really not happy right now. I have an iPhone 6s+ and iPad Pro which are useless for over 3 hours now with no hope in site. Connected to iTunes and nothing working. When I either try to update or restore it gives me "unknown error"....

WTF...The issue is NOT fixed at all and I need to go to bed and wake up to an unusable phone...............iPad can wait, but I will not have time to update my phone in the morning and basically have no phone!!!!

Apple...TOTAL FAILURE HERE! I'm getting effin tired of staring at the itunes icons on my devices and that doesn't even work!!!

Exactly. Me too. It so bad. And most people dont have IT thinking what to do. They just believe autoupdate works. Funny is Apple always bugs to update over night. So you always wonder if you have working phone in the morning or not.

It doesn't install something without your approval, so nothing would be changed in the morning if you didn't approve of it happening at some point before.

I was able to update OTA a 6s+. It bricked, but came up in iTunes ok. My iPad Air did just fine OTA. Now, I have a 6s that bricked on iTUNES!!!. Interesting. It came up with an error 45. Not listed in the Apple list of possible errors. It is now "restoring" after 2 attempts at upgrading. It's half way done restoring. Hope it works!!

I'm trying to update my iPhone 5 OTA and the progress bar on the apple screen has been stuck at about 99.9% for the last 30 minutes. Time to panic, or should I be patient?

Go to your itunes with iphone connected; than click restore.
It didn't work, always got the error 12 message. Now suddenly it did. Thanks!! I was in shock and just realized how attached I am to my iPhone it's crazy...

Hope the restore will work once it's done... ^^

I'm having the same problem since the last Windows update. iTunes no longer recognizes my apple devices. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Finally got mine to update via iTunes after 2 failed attempts of downloading then 'timing out'. Just updating now..I'll NEVER download first again. Lesson's learnt.
