It'd be awesome if you could give us an update on how 1.25gb feels in comparison to the full 2gb's when you recieve the kit, as I'm initially gonna put 1.25gb in there then maybe if worthwhile upgrade to 2gb....

Yes, that would be great to know, since Apple (I don't remember where) says that matched RAM is necessary for video performance on the Macbook. Apparently mismatched RAM is OK on a MBP, but a video killer on the MB. It would be nice to know from somebody who has actually tried it, however.

Just watched the video review and I must admit, that's some confident performing. Did you have to rehearse it before going "live"? Again, a very nice touch, has more weight to it than typing "it r00lz". :)

Very nice review! Ill have to do that when I get mine.

(How did you do that, what did you turn on in iMovie. I tired at the applestore but couldn't find the option)

In iMovie find this:

Nope no creaking here.

God dang dude, that's really loud, mine doesn't make any noise!

I think I am going to leave this thread before I pass on my hardware curse to your perfect MB.

2gb RAM finally got here, it was a pain to install, but things are going smoother now (and I can finally use PS at a decent speed), plus activity monitor says I have 1.17gb free (unused) RAM :).

Very fast, most I've ever used is 1.25 (PowerBook), so this is new for me too, I wonder how this will handle PS (PPC), I know earlier it was SLOOOW (that was with 512).

How do you describe a "pain to install"? This is the route I am going too.

Installing it wasn't that hard, it's just a matter of major pushing, I thought the chips were in because according to the user manual you'll hear a "click" when the modules go into their slots.

But when I tried to put the "L" thing back on, turns out the chips weren't all the way in, so it took a lot of pushing and now my index fingers hurt.

It was just hard pushing, the RAM works fine, and I didn't do anything wrong, don't be too worried about it, just make sure your RAM modules are secure and in there before you screw the L connector back into place.

Thanks for the RAM install help. I just hope mine get here soon so i can have the pleasure of hurting index fingers and 2GB of RAM.:D

Judging by the change in your signature, I take it your RAM got there?

^^^Oh yeah!!!!!! I didnt want to post it in multiple threads, but since you asked.....
I ran memtest on it, passed all tests. It did take a bit of force to put the RAM(DMS econoram) in, resulting in a cracked thumb-nail. :( Oh well, no more Burmese harp playing for me for a week or so....(yes, i am learning Burmese harp...)

But on topic...the computer is responding faster, with about 1 to 1.3GB of RAM free so far, though i am not running a lot of PPC apps. I am just now debating if i should install CoreduoTemp. The whole kernel extension thing freaks me out a bit. The reason is i would like to take a reading today and tomorrow, and then take another reading Friday after i put my 7200rpm 100GB Hitachi HD in for comparison.

We have the same RAM, I wonder if it's a problem with the RAM with it not going in so nicely, oh well the RAM works, no complaints (or broken nails, I keep mine clipped :p) here.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Altough things like this seem to be pretty standardized, variations can be seen in the size and fit of expansion cards, memory modules... You name it.

That said, I'm having hard time imagining adding my 2x1GB Kingston's would be that much harder than adding 1GB to my iMac which, after over a decade of PC background, was a bliss.
