I’ve done it ! I’m now getting my first ever MacBook Pro!

Thanks to people on this forum I’ve now made a purchase of what will be my first Macbook. I was going to get the new Air M2 or even the Air M1 but as I will be doing photo editing and using it for work related purposes I got the 14” pro. Surprisingly in silver though and not space grey. I was dead set on space grey until I saw how beautiful the silver was in photos.
The better screen, nicer specs and more ports was the reason why I opted for this over anything else, plus I get 3 months of free Apple TV with John Lewis. Arrives tomorrow and I can’t wait !

I was tempted to get the 1TB myself but I can’t see myself needing that much storage and I can always buy an external hard drive if ever it gets close to being full. I think it’s about £400 more which was just a little too much for me so I think I’ve found my sweet spot ! Thank you

I didn't originally notice in your first post that you were also considering an M2 Air.

I think you'll find that the 14" Pro is a very good combination of MacBook Pro power, but in a similar form factor to the M2 Air. The 16" is a little thicker and chunkier than the 14" and doesn't feel as related in design to me as the 14" does. Even with my Incase shell on it, it feels very slim and sleek.

The trackpad doesn't go hand-to-hand with MacBook Pro if you are not planning on getting a stand for the MacBook Pro. Does it?

I use a Magic Mouse as well and it's just great.

The trackpad doesn't go hand-to-hand with MacBook Pro if you are not planning on getting a stand for the MacBook Pro. Does it?

I use a Magic Mouse as well and it's just great.

I find it works better than the Magic Mouse because of the ergonomics of the MM, plus charging the trackpad is better than how you charge the MM haha

Hahaha good point. I only charge the Magic Mouse maybe once a month+ or so. So, that does not bother me but the charging the MM sucks. The design is a total failure only when it comes to charging otherwise the Magic Mouse is amazing.

Trackpad does seem cool but I don't know why you would need it when you already have a trackpad embedded on a MacBook Pro.

Excellent move! The only drawback at least in my POV is the lack of the Touch Bar.

In general I’m not very good with trackpads and I always feel a lot more comfortable using a mouse rather than using the trackpad, it feels more accurate and natural for me. However I have heard good reviews about this trackpad so it’s mainly a backup just incase I don’t like using it

I have an iPad Pro but wanted something a bit more powerful that I can use alongside it for the next 5-7 years , the only computer I used before was a windows one that is probably the worst computer I’ve ever had and possibly worst computer ever created but I got it discounted from my old job and eventually they just gave it me as no one wanted it so couldn’t complain. Honestly I think it only had enough power to just about run the programmes it came with and then would get red hot after ten minutes, so you couldn’t even use it
