4. To kick-start the phone open iPHUC and issue the following commands (if you do not know how to use command line interfaces then you probably shouldn't be doing this!)
cmd setenv auto-boot true
cmd saveenv
cmd fsboot

The phone will restart and show the connect to itunes to activate screen.

Okay, I did part three, itunes gave me an error saying the update didnt work.

Now my iphone wont turn on. I really dont understand how to use Iphuc, i downloaded it, i just can seem to see how this is connecting with my iphone or where to put these cmds. I know, haha, this is sort of varsity programming for me and my only expertise is the bunch of html i learned back when i was in middle school.
Can someone tell me whats going on. Or where i can look at a tortorial on iphuc, i just want my iphone to work haha

thanks

Experts...I followed the instructions and everything worked fine until:

1. Downgraded factory 1.1.2 phone to 1.1.1
2. Jailbreaked and installed installer program
3. Installed oktoprep through tweaks 1.1.1
4. Upgraded phone back to 1.1.2 with installer

But now I tried to install Anysim on 1.1.2 and my phone froze.

Should I install anysim on 1.1.1 or it should work on 1.1.2 once it is jailbroken?

PLEASE HELP!!!!

It's my understanding anySIM's version has to correspond to the iPhone firmware. I was running 1.1.2 and tried to install the anySIM for 1.1.1 and oh boy - it was ugly. Thought I broke the phone.

How do I recover the phone? I might be in the same stage that you described..I am trying to restore it but it doesn't seem to work.

Does anyone have 1.1.2 with SIM unlocked working? Can you please describe the steps? Can I install anysim on 1.1.1 and upgrade to 1.1.2?

thank u so much
it took me about 20 min to do this entire proccess
worked 100%. easyest method out there.
i also had to cmd promt using iphuc twice but besides that went perfectly
thank u

So, the phone was 1.1.2 OTB? If that's the case I am fairly certain you cannot unlock it using the currently available methods.

Yes, my phone was 1.1.2 out of the box. I was able to go through the entire procedure but when I installed anysim after upgrading it back to 1.1.2, it turned into a brick.

Anyone successfully unlocked 1.1.2 out of the box with anysim?

Please help..

it is my understanding that you CANNOT unlock the new iPhones with 1.1.2 firmware on it, only jailbreak it to use another O2 or AT&T simcard.

iPhone 1.1.1 Firmware

Hey,

I found this link that can help people download the 1.1.1 iPhone firmware. The download file is already in Restore.ipsw so no need to change it.

Here is the link to a thread which has it>>

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/387730/

Post 2 has the link

I could not find the direct URL to post, but I found the thread where it is. This can help anyone wondering where to start that pesky search.

Yeah, I was way too lazy to do that... Thanks! ;)

if i do this on my legit AT&T iphone do i run any risk of getting bricked?

As anyone will tell you, you are doing this at your own risk. However, that being said, if you are ONLY jailbreaking (NOT unlocking) I think the chance of bricking it is pretty slim. One thing to keep in mind though is that since it is a very expensive piece of electronics, you need to make sure you are completely comfortable with doing it. When you are ready to take the plunge then pick a guide to follow (I would recommend this one , but seriously, just pick ONE to follow) READ THE WHOLE THING THROUGH! Ask questions about anything ambiguous or if you need something clarified, have all your ducks in a row, then go for it! I love(ed) having all the functionality.

I think I remember seeing a video posted somewhere that takes you through all these steps as well.

I appreciate the guide, I'll probably sit down with this and hopefully relocate the video again and finally jailbreak my damn iPhone. :p

Hey,

First of all nice guide you put together nice and easy to understand

I just have one question. I bought a iphone running 1.1.1 software and jailbreaked it with the appsnap jailbreakme.com and used anysim 1.1.

Basicly do i have to run oktprep and then upgrade to 1.1.2 and then run the jailbreak for 1.1.2 and then run the lastest anysim software.

Thanks in advance :D

I believe those are the steps that you would need to take, but don't hold me to that! I have zero experience with unlocking since I am an AT&T customer, so check around with sources that specifically talk about unlocking.

Hey, I just saw this thread and you're an amazing person for making this, but when I get to the last few parts I have the same problem as one of the guys who posted above me. It gives me the option to restore the iPhone or set up as a new iPhone... I clicked restore like you told the guy above but it did just that... I have to start over now which isn't much of a problem, but I need to know what to do at that point for next time. It doesn't give me the "update" option... Do you think I can download the 1.1.2 firmware and do the ctrl+shift on restore and choose that 1.1.2 firmware just like you do for 1.1.1 at the beginning? What other ways are possible for doing this?

Sorry if this is unclear... I just woke up... If you need clarification I will re-write this when I'm more awake...

When I enter the first command on iPhuc it crashes and the prompt closes. What do I do???

Try reinstalling the latest version of iPHUC first. Then, when you are entering commands, double check that you are typing in all lower case since it is case sensitive.

LOL, no need to re-write, I think I can decipher it :)

When you get to the screen that is for setup (looks like this) it shouldn't matter which one you pick, but if you are picking one and it is giving you an error, then restore the firmware back to 1.1.2 and start all over again. Then select the other option when you get to that screen.
Then your phone will do its things and then will go back to the main iPhone screen. Now click UPDATE not restore. To answer you final questions, the reason you can't do this is because it will erase everything that you did in the downgraded state and you will end up right back where you were :) So, just click update and it should take you through the whole thing with that and then you are ready to proceed.

I got it :D

I had to choose the "Set up as new phone" option and hit continue then done. Then I could update... Works great! Installer is still there and Its version 1.1.2! It got rid of all my songs/videos... but I'll just sync those back up in iTunes. I'll see if the applications work later. Thanks again!

This still doesn't work 100%.

I would rather the dev teams work on breaking 1.1.2 properly than promote this workaround all the time now. Until then, I'm not going to risk this method.

i used this method like 5 dayz ago... AND IT WORKS AWESOME!!!!
my iphone works great, no features got messed up.. and installed tons of kool apps and games and all sorts of stuff :D :D
