Thanks for making me aware. I know what I'm like - I'll forget to charge it and then i'll have three devices charging away not tracking me whilst I go for my walk / run .....

Time to wait this one out i think....

Hopefully if the moto 360 uses an OLED screen it can help battery.

The samsung live only claims one day

----------

I think apple's watch will focus on the health side of things. I really am most interested in the voice commands....especially for driving.

I just read that too but I'm going to wait a few days to see if any new updates come out on battery life to see if there is any improvements or not before deciding if I should cancel or not. If I do cancel, guess im going to pre-order the Kairos watch.

I wish moto would just announce a release date. If it is July, I would just wait. August/September I would just buy one now.

Bluetooth Pairing is not the same as tethering a data connection.

The watch has no independent functions it can use with a data connection. Every single app on the phone is completely dependent on that same app installed on the phone. It's basically like using AirPlay with an Apple TV. The watch isn't doing anything independent with a data connection.

Correct. People need to consider the watch as a remote display for notifications from the phone, map directions and POSSIBLY a quick reply tool for Hangouts or text messages. I think way too many people are considering the watch as a completely independent internet device and expecting features as such. I'm fine if the Moto 360 doesn't have its own GPS receiver, it needs the phone to be able to do anything useful and that DOES have a GPS receiver in it.

----------

Hopefully wireless charging is in the cards for the watch. Seems like that would be super convenient on a watch.

It was recently reported that Motorola had a wireless charger processed through the FCC that seemed like it would be for the Moto 360.

Honestly? I wouldn't use the Moto 360 as a fitness tracker. That's just me though, I perspire a bit when doing activities that would be considered fitness activities, the Moto 360 is too nice to use for that, and also likely doesn't have an HRM built in. I don't use an HRM anyway, and will stick with my Garmin Forerunner 110 for fitness "tracking".

I'm going to wait until I get the Note 4 and get the Gear 2 or later model with it.

If for some reason I get another android phone, the Moto 360 is on top of my list.

If I end up getting the iPhone 6 instead, I hope they would have an iWatch to go along with it.

When I get home, I think I'm going to have to buy one of these. I'd really like the Motorola 360, but don't have the patience to wait*. I can't wait to use it when I'm abroad, since if I have any language difficulties, I'll be able to say "Talk to the hand; the face ain't understanding," and let Google Translate take care of the rest.

* I hope Lenovo realise what a great design team they acquired, with Motorola.

The problem is, people already complain about the price of smartphones. Let's consider the US, phones get subsidized or financed, you pay ~$200-$300 down. So now comes smart watches, priced ~$200-$300... And all they get is a remote for their phone w/ a display? I guess I was thinking that there would be something more compelling as well.

I think where fitness wearables also have a place in the market is tracking health, so not necessarily totally geared towards fitness. Maintaining good health can often be burdensome (in the US). We eat whatever we want, get fat, don't exercise, procrastinate until something is wrong before we go see the doctor. Well, I can see a market for making all of this, through sensors, more of a simpler, automated process via wearables. Imagine discovering health issues much earlier and being able to take preventable measures. I think there would be a market for that.

I'm still on the fence about these. They look cool and in theory getting notifications and weather on your wrist is useful. But this really does seem like the kind of thing I'd stop using once the novelty factor wears (no pun intended) off.

I have returned a Pebble and Samsung Neo. Novelty wore off and many upcoming devices to consider. I really need to consider the cost favor versus ultimate use I will get from them though. The price just isn't right and I understand the cost because they are new to the marketplace so it may be awhile for me.

These devices are cheaper than I expected to be fair, certainly cheaper than previous Samsung Gears, but I expect the Moto 360 device will be pricey considering it's the only one that really looks like a proper watch, and I'm not sure any of them is worth the amount of use I'd get from them.

Moto 360 is supposedly coming out along side X+1 in late August. This makes sense.

I may pick up the Gear Live in the mean time.

I was about to post the same thing. Late August means I will just go ahead and buy now.

I am still waiting for reviews ..... before I decide to keep or cancel my order. Concerned reviews are so close to release date though, thats usually a bad sign.

I don't know. Most of the early impressions were shocked at how much they liked the watches.

Since I love my pebble, I know I will love these. I'll probably pick one up at best buy in the next few weeks. I'll wait to see them both before I decide.

It's the charge every night part. I know I'll forget and I'll be there with a phone that will need charging when I actually want to use it ....

They feel as much first gen as the Gear & Gear 2 were & are.

I decided not to get the Gear Live or G Watch after reading The Verge reviews. I just can't justify the price for that battery life and screen.

Give it a generation or two.

I agree, though, there has to be a better power solution down the road.

Yeah the screen issue seems pretty fatal for a device like that. No outdoor visibilty is bad on a phone but on a god dang watch it's just not acceptable.

So yeah, I ordered the Samsung one as it's got a higher ppi screen ... Cheaper than the Gear 2 too. Anyone else going to take the plunge. Mine won't ship till 7/7/2014

Will post a review when it arrives.

I'm waiting for the Moto 360. After owning a Samsung S3 and S4 and now owning a Nexus 5, I'll steer clear of Samsung products for a while.

----------

I'll only consider the Moto 360 or the Kairos

I'm guessing the Kairos doesn't have a backlight?

I think Google should make Wear 100 percent voice. I just realized I don't want to be swiping with my left finger (or right I'm cross dominant) on a tiny screen. Also, get rid of the whole bluetooth thing. Having to be in a relative vicinity for your phone/tablet is dumb.

Other than that its very exciting and I will be keeping an eye on it
