Ordered today 9:11 am time from confirmation email, and received a email saying out of stock at 10:30 AM. Waiting to see if they receive stock during the day so they ship tonight hopefully.

Same here. Purchased at 9:16am and I got the OoS email at 11:58am. Lets see what happens.

I'm thoroughly impressed. Ordered last night at 9:45pm and it was delivered 10:30 this morning by Fed Ex. Thank you again for the heads up OP.

Just got email saying that they are out of stock. Oh well, worth the try.

Watch out the order has not been canceled it will be full field when the stock arrives so you still have a possibility of shipping from here till tonight thanks what they told me on the phone

Yeah it specifically said "As soon as the item is back in stock, it will be shipped to you promptly. Your credit card was not billed for the item that was not shipped."

Guess I'll be on the lookout for an email/charge? If I don't get them this week I'm going to call and officially cancel it.

It's weird though because the OoS email says:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for choosing Verizon Wireless. We do appreciate your business.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but the AirPods (MMEF2AM/A), is currently out of stock. As soon as the item is back in stock, it will be shipped to you promptly. Your credit card was not billed for the item that was not shipped.

But then when I check the order status online it says under status that the order has been cancelled. Not pending or anything like that.

Same case as me I called and they said it's not canceled as soon as they have it they'll send it.

No cancel or back ordered email yet.
12/22
2 day ship
But I was told yesterday and this morning that the AirPods are Back ordered and I will receive a email today letting me know the status.

I ordered from VZW this morning (~9am EST), just got an email that I was backordered. Cancelled the order. Worked out well because I got an email from best buy saying my pods shipped. So ty best buy. nty verizon.

Just spoke to Verizon and cancelled. Woman said they are "really backed up and they have no idea when they will get more."

It kinda sounds like those of us that opted for 2-day last night are in a sinking boat... we'll see what happens as the day progresses, but I'm losing hope. I should have done overnight last night.

Pay for 1030a delivery. Not here by 1030a. Check status an hour later and I get delivery exception...no one home. No fed ex tag, nothing. Fed Ex strikes again.

Ordered last night from Verizon with overnight (but not 10:30) shipping. Just arrived, and before 10:30. Funny that the fedex online doesn't even indicate that it was on the truck for delivery. Not complaining, mind you.
