Just got my 10.5 delivered. The display on this is stunning and moving through apps and scrolling is ridiculously smooth. I'm a little shocked just how much larger the display feels. Slimming down the bezels makes a massive difference and it doesn't feel noticeably heavier than my current Air 2.

I did try a 9.7" Pro last year but didn't feel like it was worth upgrading, but this one is definitely does. It's dramatically faster as well despite my Air 2 never really feeling slow.

No it is not exactly the same weight as 9.7" iPP there is a difference of 33 Grams in the cellular version between the two models. And a difference of 32 Grams between the Wifi models.
Weird. I've seen a couple of reviews now that mention it's exactly the same weight.

It's because Apple are briefing the press that 'the new iPad Pro still weighs just one pound' - which is true if you round it. But it's actually slightly heavier.

I think it's because it is so close that you won't really notice. Unless you are holding one in each hand comparing, I don't think it'll be a big deal at all.
True just strange that they are saying it's exactly the same.

I'm coming from an air 2 and I definitely noticed. Not a huge difference but I could feel it for sure.

Completely agree on the display feeling so much larger. I wasn't expecting it even though most reviews had said it.

any issues with the screen? display gradients or lack of color/brightness uniformity?

Any info on the screen display quality any yellow tint or warmer displays ? They have it every year !
Yep mine has huge yellow tint I swear I’m always plagued with it so annoying but the screen is so smooth but wish the tint wasn’t there

There is absolutely no problem with tint as that is adjustable. What Im worried about are issues on the display that cant be fixed and occur only on some parts lr single part of the screen.

Mine arrived about an hour ago. Loving it. Feels about the same weight as my air 2 and the screen is just... I'm not seeing the yellow tone people are mentioning, although I've always used night shift on mine so to me at the moment even the true tone screen appears a little too 'blue' because I've got so used to the yellow. Preparing to put iOS 11 on it because after several days with it I'm missing so many features, even if they're not yet perfect.

Oh, and the software keyboard even on iOS 10 is so much nicer than the 9'7s.

None that I can see. I've inspected it outside in daylight as well and it seems perfect. The anti-reflective coating is also seriously impressive, a massive improvement over my Air 2.

They're probably referring to the 9.7" non-Pro iPad released March 2017.

iPad Air, iPad (2017), iPad Pro 10.5: ~1.03 pounds

iPad Air 2, iPad Pro 9.7: ~0.96 pounds

Muppets over at DPD messing about with my delivery. Arrived at the depot at 5am this morning, scheduled delivery from 10 -11. Nothing arrived, I ring in and of course they say it has been delivered (it hasn't). Tracker still says it's at the depot. I'm about to head over and give them a good bollocking if they don't get their house in order!

Could you do like a 3 minute 4k export test in iMovie and tell us the speed?

I did a test on my new 12.9" 256GB with one minute of 4K video, and export took 1m6s, which is almost exactly the same time as I got on an iPhone 7.

Coming from a 12,9" all I can say is wow! I love my iPad again! thank you apple. The screen size is perfect, and the new 120 hz screen really makes a huge difference!!! The latency on the pencil is noticeably quicker too. Lovely device!

Yeah I tried the pencil at an Apple Store today, it's pretty amazing.

Oh dear... 10.5 is better screen size than I thought. Might have to return my new unopened 12.9. This could be the sweet spot. The thinner borders and slightly bigger screen makes a huge difference over the 9.7 and even makes me wonder whether it's worth having the 12.9. I can see why they might be discontinuing the iPad mini ... mines gonna be sold.

10.5 is a keeper! Love the thinner bezel on the sides... in landscape web page feels much taller. All first impressions mind you.

Picked up a new iPad Pro today, haven't seen any others with them yet so thought I'd share some pictures.

The screen is absolutely brilliant, the only way I can describe it for people who aren't sure what 120hz will feel like is imaging playing a video game like Halo at 30fps then going to Call of Duty at 60fps.

I'm aware the math doesn't add up as 60fps isn't the same as 120hz. It's just a similar to view.

Here are a few pictures, I'll update post with my impressions over the next couple of hours. Any questions feel free to ask.

EDIT: 4GB Ram confirmed.
I'm pretty sure something is wrong with your screen. Even with true tone on it's terribly brownish yellow.

Got one yesterday. just getting around to using it. Screen is nice, but IMHO not CRAZY nice. If you need the 120hz refresh or are going to use the pencil a lot, it probably makes a difference. I don't really find the scrolling difference too noticeable.

Odd thing about SIZE though is that if FEELS heavier and feels larger to hold. It is certainly thicker than the 9.7 IPP. It's subtle but there. I wish they could have kept the same form factor or made it a tad thinner, while getting the better screen, but I'm pretty sure we're going to find that the battery is actually larger on the 10.5" unit than the 9. IPP. Regardless, I'm not sure it's enough to keep it at this point.

You're talking about the 10.5" right? It's exactly the same thickness.

And yes, the battery is 30.4 watt-hours vs. 27.5 watt-hours.
