I like her reviews.
That was best narrative explaining the weak points of the IP6+ i have seen yet . I love the way she had the iFixit pictures of the inside of the IP6+ to show exactly where the weak points are in the phone. Nice explanation of how the CR test was flawed.

Yea, she's one of the few unbiased tech reviewers.

Just to point out the hypocrisy around the whole bending issue, the Note 4 bends

Hmm on the N4 the gap will be too big I guess...

hairgate is in fact extremely important...

Good on Apple not to comment on this BS they should also ban media that is making a story of this. Clickbaiting....

Anyone with a droplet of braincells can guess that anything made of metal has a tendency to bend and remain bent when sufficient pressure is applied. The latest Note 4 that is made out of metal and can get deformed similary, BUT no one is talking about it, and it's not being reposted in 5000 forums and the social media, it's not being criticized for it's structural integrity, no... They now say it bends because it's made of a metal frame, of course it can bend !!! Why did they not say the same thing about the 6+ when the bendgate issue originated here ? Or are we just quickly to criticize apple and leave out the competitors to make a mock of it ?

You can continue the discussion at reddit : http://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/2ip3ta/bendgates_latest_victim_samsungs_new_galaxy_note_4/

____

Just to add, since when do we bend phones to test them out in reviews ?? Why is this a thing now ? This whole thing is stupid, along with the videos, bendgate, and this post.

WHY !!!???!

The real question is why is this important for you? If you have the 6 Plus and am happy with it, fine, great. It is clear that some folks for whatever reason bent theirs by committing the extraordinarily uncommon act of putting the phone in their pocket. Why is it important for iPhone fans that Droids bend too? I don't understand.

I'm confused. Is this happening to people with cases? Or just phones in their natural state? Personally I wouldn't have a phone without a case, usually otterbox. But I would have to imagine with just a cheap plastic case the force it would take to get iphone to bend would be much greater

You could extend that question and ask why it is also important for android fans that some iPhones have bent? The answer is basically down to insecurity and justification of ones own purchase, whatever that may be. Mocking amongst geeks in other words. :)

One can get rid of Touchwiz, now it's you with the bezels...

Being pedantic, touchwiz runs far deeper than its launcher alone. Indeed the 'launcher' aspect is lighter than many 3rd party replacements.

Touchwiz is all the stock applications (dialer, settings etc), all the background services, all the stuff that something like Nova doesn't touch.

However that being said, the Galaxy Alpha is surprisingly stripped back of many of the legacy apps and services, I see no reason why going forward this will not continue.

Absolutely right, one needs to flash a custom rom to get rid of Touchwiz, which isn't very reasonable on a Note tbh, but it's possible in the end

My last posting (not my very last in this forum, sorry guys) regarding whatevergate:
In the end all this gates are kind of bs, they won't affect the real-life experience of 99,99% of the users, no matter if you gonna buy a N4 or a 6+...

Not even sure how many hate TouchWiz, but most of them probably just hate the TouchWiz Home which is easy replaced.. i didnt hate TW, but i changed it by Nova, just for getting something new to play with...

Yes you can replace the tw launcher with nova or whatever but that's just a minor part of TW. You have all the other apps that have been modified by Samsung - contacts, dialer, settings etc. Then add in all the layers they have added in to support their added value (eye tracking for example) and you end up with a lot of additional code that just slows everything down. If you compare the size of a Samsung image to a pure android (on the same device) there is a large difference.

I like a lot of what Samsung add but I wish they will leave most of it to play store add-in rather than building it into the OS. Would make updates a lot easier and quicker too.

I love both phones. Is that allowed here? My current S5 is a terrific device as is my iPad. So I am glad there are many choices.

You know what, I'm not really sure what TW detractors hate specifically. I think the only one that makes sense to me is the lag, which I personally don't see. Otherwise what is it they hate? Is it the color scheme? I can't imagine anything worse than the white on off white scheme in iOS. While I don't use TW home, I find it very decent as a launcher, I just prefer a bit more customization with Nova. I just don't see what all the hate is about.

This is what annoy's me, we will see more and more of these videos I think, but Apple has basically made a mobile phone device, charges several hundred dollars etc for it, yet they are not capable of living up to modern living.
All in the name of thinness... it's ridiculous, the Note 4 as seen bends but I bet no one will show videos that it's warped after a few weeks!

Apple IMO fully deserve to be slandered for this built in design flaw, they are not stupid and fully knew how un-durable these devices are, but they still went with a thinner phone.
I bet out of their iPhone 6 mock up's the model they chose was the thinnest.

Sure you can wrap it up in cotton wool and wear woolen mittens to use it, but it's a mobile phone as as such should be designed from the start to cope with modern everyday living, not compromise that so it can look pretty.

Haven't we heard this trite nonsense before though.

iPhone 4/4S: No way it can handle the rigors of being a smart phone. It will shatter and break so easily...not quite.

iPhone 5/5S: No way it can stand up to daily abuse. It's so thin, and will mar from regular handling...Nope

In the end very few users have issues, and are able to enjoy their device without concern for the duration of ownership. There will always be a minority of people who just can't have nice things and will destroy stuff through negligence or absent mindedness.

I owned an iPhone 6 for 13 days before returning to my S5. It was returned immaculate. My current S5 is also flawless after 6 months.

There is always "That Guy". DONT BE THAT GUY.

Here is 112 pages talking about an S4 being bent from so-called regular use.

First response: "you must of sat on it or something because mine is always in my front pocket (screen facing my leg) and no problem..". Yeah that sounds familiar.

Actually no I had never heard of the previous iPhones bending before this iPhone 6 story, or the Galaxy S4 so those story's can't have been as widespread, considering I owned and iPhone 4 and 5. No one is being any guy, stop apologising for Apple, they have made a mistake here IMO and it will come back on them. You shouldn't pay several hundred dollars for a device designed to go in your pocket that warps or bends due to a design flaw. We shall see in a few months how this plays out, but I've seen too many reviewers show damaged iPhones 6 from both reputable and non reputable reviewers.
