Haven't we heard this trite nonsense before though.

iPhone 5/5S: No way it can stand up to daily abuse. It's so thin, and will mar from regular handling...Nope
Gah, if I just LOOKED at my iPhone 5 it would scratch and gouge. There is NO way it would stand up to day to day use if it was naked. I never understood why people want exotic phones with delicate surfaces and before they even step out side of the store they have already slapped on an ugly plastic case. This is why I never understood the hate for the Note 3/4 plastic backing, it's MUCH more functional than the iPhone. It provides very good grip, has some flexibility to it, which contrary to popular opinion is a good thing in a phone as evidenced by this thread, and it allows you to use the phone completely naked on the back. I've used and abused mine for over 8 months now and it doesn't have a single scratch.

You know what, I'm not really sure what TW detractors hate specifically. I think the only one that makes sense to me is the lag, which I personally don't see. Otherwise what is it they hate? Is it the color scheme? I can't imagine anything worse than the white on off white scheme in iOS. While I don't use TW home, I find it very decent as a launcher, I just prefer a bit more customization with Nova. I just don't see what all the hate is about.

I don't pay much attention to those comments, when I got my note 3 the first thing that came to hear was wtf are people talking about lag; UI design whe can agree.

I love both phones. Is that allowed here? My current S5 is a terrific device as is my iPad. So I am glad there are many choices.
It should be allowed but unfortunately there are people who feel they need to like one or the other and any other choice is the enemy in effect lol. Seriously though I think the majority of informative posters here either own devices across different platforms or are like myself and have experience owning both. Its just personal taste and individual preference. :)

I've got an iPhone 5 hand me downed to my wife and goes on to this day, that lived mostly naked in my pocket for a year and could be sold for maximum trade in anywhere because the condition is perfect.

Some people just can't have nice things.

My best friend has a S5 and it lags beyond belief. just by launching the camera and taking photos you can tell it lags a lot....

Actually no I had never heard of the previous iPhones bending before this iPhone 6 story, or the Galaxy S4 so those story's can't have been as widespread, considering I owned and iPhone 4 and 5. No one is being any guy, stop apologising for Apple, they have made a mistake here IMO and it will come back on them. You shouldn't pay several hundred dollars for a device designed to go in your pocket that warps or bends due to a design flaw. We shall see in a few months how this plays out, but I've seen too many reviewers show damaged iPhones 6 from both reputable and non reputable reviewers.

Because you've never heard doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Everything that is Apple related gets overblown. That's why you never heard of other bending phones but now because it's Apple you get all media on it.

I babied the 3 or 4 iphone 5's I've owned, they all eventually looked like crap. On the contrary some people CAN have nice things, they just choose more durable higher quality "things".

I have the M8 and it didn't bend one bit that one time when I fell and sat down on it, bar a little dent. Now based on the report that the 6 plus is sturdier than the M8, I'm pretty sure all these claims that the 6 plus bends from being in the pocket are completely false. Only an idiot will repeat these bogus claims and take them as fact. In any case, I've switched to the 6 plus for about 3 weeks already and it doesn't seem like it'll ever bend from normal use. I put it in my front pocket all the time and I don't use a case for my 6 plus. I

I think some people have very different definitions of baby ' ing

Personally any device I've had which I babied looked or looks pristine in near mint condition including iphone 5 and 5s

There is an inherent difference in how different materials weather typical use by a consumer. The material covering the iPhone 5/5s is inherently more prone to scuffing and scratching than the material covering the Note 3. Now I'm talking about using both devices naked, which is how I usually use my phones. Just the act of constantly slipping it in and out of a pocket for months on end takes its toll on the iPhone, just as one example. I'm not talking about abuse, dropping, etc. although I have done these things with my Note 3 and it's still pristine.

Yeah I'd never use an iPhone naked. I put on both tempered screen protector and then clear matte skin for the back / edges and then on top of that usually a soft capsule case. That to me is my definition of 'baby'ing' ..... :) Like I say everyone has different definitions of baby'ing.

But that's exactly my point. With my Note 3 I can completely carry it around naked and abuse it to a point and not get a scuff or scratch on it. Mine is pristine after 8 months of heavy naked use.

I'm not saying having a delicate phone is a bad thing, hey we should have choices as to what we buy. I just kept hearing how the iPhone has such a higher quality than the note series, but in my mind quality means longevity and resistance to wear and tear and I just wasn't seeing it.

What's funny is that by my definition of quality the Note 4 might be less quality. I wonder if there will be issues with the painted metal edges over time. Also the metal frame may not have as much pliability as the Note 3 plastic case.

The two phones I really had to baby or worry about scratching during normal use are the M8 and IP6. I used Zagg glass screen protectors and backs for them.
My GS5, OPO, N3 and now N4, Lumia Icon, 1520, IP5s all were naked......
