How about:

Edge bounce-back effect.
No input lag
No scroll lag
No stuttering
Centralized Audio Controls - In the Notification Center
Consistent UI
Better consistent icons
Background audio - From video too.

Quick reply would be great. I was using cyanogenmod and I'm back on stock now. They implemented quick reply. I'd also like to see better battery life in the same way they did project buttery.

Everything about my phone looks stock, but I added nova to delete unused pages and change the size of icons. I like then a little smaller.

There will be no bounce effect, Apple has that patented.

I wonder if KLP will be available on HTCOne when it's released?

No. When has that ever been the case other than for Nexus devices?

I imagine the poster means will it be available for the HTC ONE - not necessarily that it'll be the first phone to receive it - in that instance it will be the Nexus.

But I imagine HTC will update the one to KLP at some stage after its release, but that could be 4-6 months after it's release, with possible carrier delays in rolling it out added on top of that.......

My experience with Samsung, HTC, & LG brands since the beginning of Android, causes me to rank them in that order when evaluating the hardware only.

I'm on my third Nexus 4:

The first one was excellent, my wife charmed me out of it :)

The second one was just as good, my brother begged for it

The third one is in my firm grasp. It too is excellent and MINE :D

So my initial concern over LG making Nexus phones for Google was unfounded.

The Note 2 is supposed to get it. I'm not familiar with HTC one though, may or may not.

But there have been plenty of devices that went from gingerbread to ICS. A lot of devices from Motorola, Samsung and HTC. That was about the time I got an iPhone so I don't know what went from ICS to JB, however my Motorola Xoom tablet did. It went Honeycomb > ICS > JB.

Nice that the Note 2 will be getting it. Who knows how long it will take though, and if KLP is nice enough I'll probably end up getting the Note 3 instead of waiting a year to get it through Samsung. It's a shame how hamstrung it is to roll out OS updates, it's really an Achilles heel for Android in general. Heck I'd be happy to get 4.2 on my Note 2 so I can finally receive group text messages, just how Android hasn't had this for so long just boggles my mind.

Now if only there was a phone the size of the note in the Nexus program...

Why not use a replacement message app that supports group messaging like GO SMS pro or handcent?

I've never used either but I've heard good things about them. I'm in a group message with a friend that uses and S2 with GO SMS Pro.

They support group messaging out, but not in. I've tried them both, they are ok programs, but I like just bare functionality, I just want to send and receive texts and don't need all the fluff they have.

You need to turn on group messaging in settings, its off by default. He receives text like I do on my iPhone. Unless there is an incompatibility of some sort.

Edit: Option is called "message grouping" from what I'm reading on an Android forum.

I use Go SMS Pro on my Nexus 4 and MMS does not work at all. I have to use a separate app just to send a picture. Small inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless.

I'm confused. I use the stock messaging app and can send/receive group messages and mms

I'd be first in line to buy that@!@!

I'd probably want to buy it as well.

Ew. 5" is max for me.

Then don't?

I didn't mean that it should be "the nexus device for the year 201X", but that it should be "a nexus device". In my scenario, there isn't simply one Nexus device being made a year. In my scenario, there are two or three a year.

I hope they have a more uniform OS. I love the look of the Google Play Store 4.0. Now, make the whole OS similar to that! It needs a more consistent layout throughout the whole OS.

I assume is when you reach the top or bottom and the page bounce back  thats the only thing that comes to mind

That it.

I actually REALLY like that. The blue glow Android uses is ok but I've found it to be easy to not notice. The bouncy effect apple uses is nice, very noticeable but not distracting.

But the stock messaging app doesn't include quick reply. In order to reply to a message using the stock messaging app, you have to leave whatever app you are currently in and go to the messaging app. With Go SMS Pro and a lot of other third party messaging apps, they include a quick reply feature.

I won't.

Yea, the bounce effect is awesome and makes the UI feel so much more responsive.
