Well this thread has made me second guess my choice today. I've had a 42mm SGS since May. Today I got the 38mm rose gold with lavendar sport as I love the rose gold and it looks great with my skin tone. But now seeing all of these third party bands that work better with the SS I kind of want to return the rose gold and get a SS! Ugh the decisions! I also know that the silver sport is out of the question, as the different metal finishes would drive me nuts since I like things to match
Go for it! It's what I did and I don't regret my decision whatsoever. You'll live the look and feel of the Stainless. I'm not saying the sports is cheap nor degrading everyone else's decision. I'm saying I love my Stainless Steel over the Sports I initially bought and transitioned to the SS and I absolutely love it. Besides most of the adapters standard are stainless and that was a huge factor on my decision towards the exchange.
Remember go with whatever makes you happy.
I'm sure the rose gold looks and feels amazing but, the screen between the sports and the stainless is different and the Sapphire screen against the Ion X glass is much tougher even when there's several articles saying the sports is better, not true.
Now if this was just an entry model for you to try what this current model is like, it's a great decision to wait it out for model 2.0 but if you're planning on having a watch for at least 2 years, go for the tougher model. At the end I believe you will be happy with it, but again, whatever makes you happy is what matters the most. Go to apple and try yours and the SS side by side to see what you like best! I'm sure whatever decision you make will be the best one.
So far also the only band with gold rose adapter I've seen is the freedomoclock's rose gold Milanese which link I posted a couple of posts back. It's only $30 and I'm sure it'll look great with the gold watch but yet again, you'd have to get all adapters to match your watch and it would be easier to match the SS than it would be the rose gold.
