Hmmm... I wonder what it could be that Google has more users than Apple? Can't possibly be lower prices and free services, can it?

Also, what does it matter who had an idea first? It's great for ego to say you were first, but what else is it good for?
Yes it does actually matter because google as a company needs to launch new products all the time because that’s how their company is setup
Unlike Apple who can wait for other companies to come out with the product & then implement it.
Because let’s be honest here if Apple started making toilet tissue then people would buy that thinking it’s an original design

But it feels so much better on my bum and safari feels snappier!

Galaxy S24, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro.
That’s it.
Not true at all.
S23 series also got all the AI features of the S24 and the S22 will get them as well.
3 generations is pretty good I would say.
Also if I'm not mistaken the Pixel 7 Pro also runs Pixel 8's AI features those that are not camera specific anyway.

And don’t forget about optimization, one thing Android users hate to talk about. After installing just ONE MAJOR UPDATE phone magically turns into pumpkin, starts to lag and at the end of the day owner rushes to an Apple Store to get an iPhone and never touch this Android-infested stuff again.
Well it's not true.
The first Android update for my S23U made the phone faster and smoother(even improved the battery) and the software was further improved by OneUI 6.1 update.
The S23U is way better optimized now than it was at launch(and this is a phone that had very stable software from the beginning, I don't know about how many iphones you can say that).

As my first experience with advanced AI, I've been using Circle to search lately a lot, but it's not just that you don't just circle things, you press at the bottom of the screen and when the feature is activated now everything that on the screen is selectable, you can select/copy text, translate text, hell you can translate the entire page, get definitions for words etc. It's a really useful feature so I can't wait to see what Google will announce for Android 15, AI is obviously the way to go.

Lmao I laughed at you comparing pixels and iPhones. I rather use an iPhone SE 2016 before use any current android.
Cool,...that says it all for you. Why comment if you haven't even used Android for some years?
I haven't had an iPhone since like 2011 or 2012 and I don't go to the iPhone sections in here just to say I don't care for them.
I'm just pointing out that Apple doesn't give you anything extra on their cheaper iPhone. Small screen 4.7", starts with paltry 64 GB memory.

But ok, enjoy the 2016 version

My last android is a galaxy s22 and z flip both that still works just fine in spite of them being a lag droid. It’s literally in my signature

When you have a point let’s chat because at this guy point you’re not making no sense.

As far as memory, in today’s age of cloud and streaming, i have no issu using 64 gb. Unlike android, iOS and lower storage isn’t as problematic. On android even when there is nothing on the device literally 70 percent of the storage is already gone.

Amazing how Apple fans put down anything about Google rather than admit Apple's shortcomings. I recently went back to Android from IOS and it is amazing how far ahead Android is of IOS.
The only thing holds me back is the Ecosystem and the fact that whenever I take a picture it almost instantly appears on my Macbook. Still... I am waiting for the IP16 and if it disappoints.... (Probably it will) then I will go back to Sony Xperia Line-up. What Android Phone did you buy? and what Iphone have you had?

Cheers*

It's amusing how you make up this stuff but hey it obviously makes you feel better.
I would ask you to show me an Android smartphone with nothing on the device but the OS and 70% of the storage gone. Impossible exercise I would say.
To the point, Android allows much better storage management than iOS in general also have you seen Android 15 and the new App Archiving feature? Really nice stuff.

Apple meanwhile tests and protypes in private and launches things only when they are ready (generally speaking), so you never see the ideas that were being tested but didn't make to the market.

Yeah, Apple Maps was a great example of tested and ready product from Apple.

Siri. Another great example.

And these are key smartphone features.

I don't use Google photos, but when I take a picture on my android, it almost immediately appears in OneDrive and Immich on my PC (or whatever device I'm using to access them). I believe only the Apple Photos app will sync in the background on iOS.

Please tell me how I’m making stuff up that I literally experience based on my usage 😂😂😂😂 like you’re really telling me what MY EXPERIENCE is. Like android fans can’t accept that not everyone likes or thinks android is great because it isn’t. Like plz be real.

I don’t need to feel better because I’m happy using the Device I want (iPhone 15 pm) and I didn’t settle for a subpar ecosystem like google and android. I’d go back to my old windows phone but I use android as a daily driver again. It pisses me off using my galaxy now sometimes when I pick it up.

You don’t need to try and boast about android. One because I don’t care. That’s the main reason actually.

But also because I don’t need to be educated on a platform I’ve used the last sixteen years.

Sorry android sucks to me and most in my circle and I actively make sure to try and regularly switch my android friends to iPhone with mostly success. It’ll be okay bud 🤡😫

My only main hold out is a friend with a pixel 8 but even he hates that phone and he sees how well the rest of us enjoy our iPhones so he’ll probably be switching soon.

I think Google has lost sight of itself in recent years. With so much ML and AI, how can they not calculate that 90% of users are not interested in...summarizing videos? Generating social media posts? Who came up with this stuff?

Big tech is putting the cart before the horse, but Google is especially guilty. Instead of making their products meaningfully better, it seems like they're betting it all on AI. They even messed up Google Search, shoehorning AI and recommendations into it.

OK, shown me an Android smartphone(pictures of the storage, preferable a video) with nothing by the OS on it and 70% of the storage gone, so not available to the user. That's what you said. I will quote you so you don't forget: On android even when there is nothing on the device literally 70 percent of the storage is already gone

like you’re really telling me what MY EXPERIENCE is

I'm not sure you have much experience to speak of in the first place, you never have any actual relevant examples or share any details, almost like they don't exist.
Anyway provide the proof I asked above if you are so confident in "your experience".

android fans can’t accept that not everyone likes or thinks android is great because it isn’t

I don't think that someday that insistently writes lagdroid almost every post has any relevant information to share about how Android is, or any honest opinion, thought, experience etc.

You're wasting your time. This user logs on to to an Apple-centric forum to complain about Android for some reason.

You do realize that if my criticism of android bother you or my posts, macrumors has the nifty block feature. I share my opinions on a discussion forum. That’s on you to accept my opinion or don’t. My experience lagdroid clearly isn’t yours.

You’ll be okay if I criticize lagdroid and you don’t have to continuously defend it or justify your purchase because I truly do not care and I’m clearly not going to agree.

After 16 years and even at once developing an app for android (I forgot all about that lmao. I developed my first and only app and it was an android app for work), I’m very well versed with android. Even more so than I am
With iOS.

Fun fact: I just realized Wednesday that on 3 way calls if I hit the I icon it’ll allow me to end the call for one person. This whole entire I would hang up both and just call the person back.

That’s the beautify of iOS (for me). Learning small things and im not spending time trying to figure out what feature I need to tweak. What setting I need to disable. Hoping I chose the right android device because it could be an outdated version or worse it can be android go version which is even worse. I don’t need to spend time on xda worried about Ron’s(to be fair the last time I did Roms was like six years ago).

I don’t need to waste an hour of my life looking for alternatives because google apps and services are terrible.

My storage isn’t already being eaten up by an inefficient OS.

My iPhone is perfect and I enjoy using it more than any of android phones over the last 16 years.

I do miss HTC. The best designed android phones. All current android phones look like absolute crap.

This is surreal. Why do you care so much?

you can do what I did. Google. I’m also a part of many android subs and forums. It’s not something I made up and I’m not the only one with complaints.

Since you care so much google it.
On the flip side my iPhone 11 I used for a week when my 15 pro max got stolen (aka a phone I use daily) at 64 gb still had another 24-28 gb. Keep in mind this phone I actually used regularly.
Fans can be critical - we're not cultist (at least I hope we're not!). Even the best artist have a few less-than-great tracks.
Far from cultist here.

You said you don't make up stuff. Prove it? You are the one that made the claim(nobody forced you in anyway). If you can't, well anybody that is capable of logical thinking can see that I was right 😉

I also said I don’t care. I’ve said this multiple times but you don’t seem to get that. I’m not sure why you care so much.

If you want to believe you are right, who am I to take that away from you? Clearly you need to
Be right so if you feel you are right I’m happy for you. It’s a tad odd but you know whatever.

I don’t mind being wrong (I’m not here) nor Do I care about being right about an operating system. You do realize you’re trying to have a one sided argument over an operating system with me. Just so you can be right.

Aren't you also here kinda doing the same thing? Like, that's great, you don't care, but you keep arguing about how you don't care? Kettle, meet pot.

It's unfortunate how the debates here about Android always end up "Android/Google Bad" with no real discussion about it.

Yeah it's really amusing 🤣
Also I was sure he would act like this and would give those answers.

I’m not arguing about I don’t care lol. I’m telling the guy I don’t care so he can stop wasting his time typing out paragraphs when I am
Not going to read them. I don’t care about someone trying to defend android.

I can only speak personally for me. I personally find the hypocrisy around apple being a monopoly absolutely ridiculous when google is literally the dominant search engine and browser and I feel like they abuse their market power.

Unfortunately I can’t really get away from Google. In order to use YouTube and comment I have to use gmail.

In order to Use google fi phone service I have to use gmail instead of just being able to pay directly like any other phone company.

Apple doesn’t require you to use an iCloud address for Apple Music on windows or android.

Android as an operating system is more powerful and capable ON PAPER. I will never deny that. But for all android can do it does half-assed.

I rather a more stricter and seamless ecosystem with apple than the Wild West with android.

I’ve used android since 2008 with the g1 and I have owned well over 70 devices. Meaning unlike a lot of the current android fans, I’m far more experienced because I’m not comparing android to iOS. I’m comparing android from then till now and iOS.

With apple/iPhone I’m buying into a user experience and ecosystem and that’s something google has yet to cultivate.
