Also another reason is probably magnet positioning....Google's approach to AI: Roll out to as many users as possible.
Apple's probable approach to AI: New Apple Pencil only works on new iPads, Old pencils will not work on new iPads for no reason effing other than greed.
Apple is still trying to run the company as they have always done. Total control over the employees. On the other hand Google is giving freedom so that developers can come up with new ideas. I am not saying that everything what Google does is good. But iPhone sells well because of loyal customers. Many years ago iOS was known for the simplicity and ease of use. But now Android has made many people content creators. With free Apps which come with the mobile, Anybody can edit photos and videos and upload in Social Media.

That actually says more about Apple as a company than google. This is pretty funny, considering Google seem to pull the plug on just about every new service or idea in a year or two.
Just take a look at this list of new ideas that have been killed by Google and then try to think of the cool new things they've released in the past 5 years that are still around 2 years later.

Killed by Google
Killed by Google is the open source list of dead Google products, services, and devices. It serves as a tribute and memorial of beloved services and products killed by Google.killedbygoogle.com

That google is willing to take a chance & make new things
Where as Apple play it safe & still to waiting to see if someone else brings it out first.
What new original idea has Apple actually been successful with can you actually name at least a few?No, it says that Google is willing to use their customers as beta testers and frequently pulls the plug on new services.
Apple meanwhile tests and protypes in private and launches things only when they are ready (generally speaking), so you never see the ideas that were being tested but didn't make to the market.
The beautiful thing is that people get to choose which company's philosophy they prefer, but let's not conflate this with a lack of innovation at Apple.
No surprise here.I’m not reading all of that truthfully.
Yes, but OpenAI isn't providing the integration into a mobile OS at the level Google is able to do it. Google is also spending a lot of its efforts integrating it into their paid Google Workspace products. It almost doesn't matter who is "better" when everyone is going to use the default AI built-in to whatever products they are using. If you don’t know Google is not the leading company in AI. That place goes to openAI.
Compared to Google event today, people were much more impressed with openAI.
I am sure Apple will be fine, they take their time.
For many people, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers, Siri, and FileMaker Pro work well enough, too. Also, Apple Maps works well enough, and is much better looking. I prefer it—by a wide margin.
Well google is free and you are the product. I’m not sure you are making the point you want to make. What new original idea has Apple actually been successful with can you actually name at least a few?
Google on the other hand need to take this approach to get people to use their products.
There is actually more google users to Apple users out there so something must work
Yeah, Apple fans thinking that Androids become useless after a couple of years seems to be a common trope here. My last two phones (prior to upgrading to an S23 last summer) were a Note 8 (2017) and a Nexus 4 (2012).Typical Apple user comment
You have obviously never used a decent android phone then because my sister keeps hers for years & updates the os & doesn’t have a problem.
Apple is not free, and you are still the product.Well google is free and you are the product. I’m not sure you are making the point you want to make.
If you want to use the same metrics that that site apparently uses to measure things that Google has killed over the years, you could come up with a pretty impressive list of things Apple has killed. My Photo Stream, iChat, .Mac, Xserve, Aperture, Shake, Bento, Mac OS Server...This is pretty funny, considering Google seem to pull the plug on just about every new service or idea in a year or two.

Well this comment aged well....Apple meanwhile tests and protypes in private and launches things only when they are ready (generally speaking), so you never see the ideas that were being tested but didn't make to the market.
right now with an emerging technology like AI...Apple is so far behind I am not sure they can ever catchup. It’s funny because Apple is so far behind these features it’s hilarious.
iOS is literally fisher price OS compared to Android with AI.
Photos search, circle to search, Gemini assistant etc are utterly amazing and nothing iOS has right now compares.
But hey, we’re getting another button!
It is not so much as being first....as it it first to develop and implement. Which is huge in emerging technologies.Hmmm... I wonder what it could be that Google has more users than Apple? Can't possibly be lower prices and free services, can it?
Also, what does it matter who had an idea first? It's great for ego to say you were first, but what else is it good for?
I don't understand this commotion about originality in products. I don't want to use the first product of its kind, I want to use the best. What new original idea has Apple actually been successful with can you actually name at least a few?
