If the case is a MagSafe case it will stick to the charging stand without the phone in the case.
I suggest you do not use MagSafe chargers in the car or anywhere else where the phone might fall if the case is not a MagSafe case.

Thanks for that. I can't say I'd trust MagSafe to hold this thing securely in a car even out of a case.

Anyway, I can confirm that the Mujjo full leather case does stick to the MagSafe puck by itself, no iPhone in it.

Personally, I'm not thrilled with the Mujjo case. It's supposed to be all-leather, but it doesn't FEEL like it is. In comparison, I have their leather case on my Xr and that looks, feels, and smells like leather. I don't know if this is a consequence of the design to accommodate MagSafe, but it's just not the same. It does look good though.

The word “compatible“ is being used to mean both ‘will charge through‘ and ‘has own built magnets’

It is very disappointing to read that some third party leather ones with built in magnets are not strong enough for car satnav use which I use a lot. I had assumed that anything with built magnets would be strong enough for car.

Can anyone vouch for one which definitely has magnetic grip as strong as the Apple cases, which are fine in a car?

Uh, what does this mean? This is my first MagSafe iPhone, so I'm a bit green on accessories and whatnot.

I have the Mujjo case, and I can tell you it's a snug fit. You tuck the iPhone into it, more or less, and this case is clearly not intended to be removed routinely.

It does charge just fine through the case, but the magnetic grip seems weaker. I'm using a stand with the Apple MagSafe charging puck in it on my nightstand, and while it does hold the iPhone on it with the case still on, it just barely does. I'm really not comfortable with this... it comes off the stand too easily.
Remove the phone from the case then see if the case will stick to the Magsafe charger.

Regarding MagSafe — the otherwise beautiful Hardgraft case (14p) had much weaker magnets than the Apple leather case, fell off my ESR car charger. The Native Union Yatay case also has slightly weaker magnets, but not as bad as Hardgraft. Both third party cases do not make the connection sound Apple offers when the device is put into its case.

Grabbed a Lonli edition. Had the classic for my 13 Pro Max and while it felt good with clicky buttons it does not patina at all and the leather is either extremely coated or not real.

Edition feels much more like leather. Has an action button cover - but clickiness is kinda muted at least to start. Fwiw these guys will refund your case within 30 days if you don’t like it. So I’ll probably give it a whirl.

I have a Miracase silicone which I love the feel of and clicky buttons but the lip is SO high compared to the Lonli and Apple cases - hard to swipe.

I just ordered Bullstrap case and wallet. Comes with a lifetime warranty. Used code Labor15 for 15% off.

Did you find out if it will have an action button or just a cutout? The pictures on the website seem to be from older phones

I’ve had most of the leather cases mentioned in this thread and always went back to bullstrap/ryan london.

Andar was good but had a lot of color transfer. Three of my magsafe chargers are now permanently tan cause if it.

Nomad was bulky and had sharp/slippery tpu sides.

Mujjo was worse than apple pleather and cost $20 2 years ago.

What’s the closest to Apple’s leather cases? Is there a consensus on that? Lots of things I liked about them. They were light, good quality, and had clicky buttons.

I use a Belkin MagSafe charger without a case and it’s never fallen

I got a Decoded case this year. Time will tell how it will wear over time but I really like it. Def comparable to the apple leather cases. Seen next to my old 13 Pro Max case. And it’s $4 cheaper than that FineLinen trash!

Nice. Looks like the Decoded has the Action Button, button now? The picture(s) on their site show just an opening.

I don't know. I haven't contacted them. I am still waiting on them to ship my two cases.

Asked their chat now and they said it should have a button instead of a cutout. Although it took me a while to get an answer to the correct question, so i'm not 100% confident :p
But i ordered one anyway

Mind posting a few pictures of the Lonli edition? I’m curious what it looks like in real life. I’m returning the Mujjo due to some defects and very high (plus sharp edged) buttons so I’m back to square one.

My favorite case for recent years in terms is size and fit.

Nomad is nice, but it isn't like Apple's case, as it has a TPU edge. Best analogue for the apple case is the Andar Aspen, which is like the Apple case but higher quality. Camera cutout and buttons are metal, good quality and durable full grain leather.
Does the Andar Aspen have an action button for the 15Pro or a cutout? Most of the pics avoid showing that angle.

Currently it's a cutout. And it's supposedly very difficult to use (not easy to get your finger in there) according to multiple comments from others.

Hopefully they redesign it.

looks great! Im also decided to order it in this "clay" colour.
How does it compare to the Apple leather one in terms of thickness(thinner, thicker)? How is the leather feel (Smooth/soft or rough)?

Yeah it’s terrible. Can’t press the action button with thumb or even the flat part of your finger. Only a finger tip will activate it.

Yes, looks quite slim, edges are slimmer than the Lonli and hugged my daughter’s 14+ nicely.

The Lonli(Classic) is nice, looks good, and is very durable( hardly a mark afte several drops), but it doesn’t really seem like leather. 0 patina.

The InUnion seems like it will patina just fine. We’ll see.
That’s PU leather isn’t it?
