That is a lot of patina in a short time.
For those don’t want to wait, I dyed my case with Tandy oil dye in saddle to darken it. Turned out excellent with the added benefit of providing drastically increased grip. After using the case for a month, only the edges where I held it were darkeninad it looked terrible. I grabbed an old bottle of Tandy’s I had and I basically scrubbed in the dye with a paper towel first to embed the dye....I think this helped with removing the protective top layer Apple applies. I layered 3 coats allowing about 30 seconds between each coat (it dries rapidly and stains everything, be careful). Finally took an old cotton cloth to put the final coat on and buff it out. Turned out perfect!

You could always get a clear skin and just put it on the bottom of the phone. It wont help you much for drops but as far as scratching it may help a good bit.Hey guys,
I really like Apple Leather case for iPhone X. The only thing I'm worried about is unprotected bottom edge.
Is there any solution (a kind of a film or whatever) to add some protection to this edge and still use lovely leather case?
Thank!

I have my X in a charcoal grey leather case and I put it in a neoprene sleeve I got on amazon which protects it really good. Helps for the type of work I do to protect the leather.Hey guys,

Yeah it sounds stupid but while the leather case protects my phone when using it, in my job my clothes tend to get wet from time to time so the neoprene sleeve protects my case from damage while in my pocket. If the case wasn’t as pricey I wouldn’t be as worried. So you protect the protective case? Wow.
We're over three months past release so there's gotta be some significant patina happening out there! I don't think I've seen any showing the aubergine (sp?) yet.
Same here, I've had the aubergine case since the beginning (I received my first iPhone X mid-november '17, posted some photos of the case here). It's the case I use every day. Apart from a few micro-dents and scratches, the case is as good as new. What I've noticed however is that the case has become "grippier" (less slippery) with use, as probably the skin oil infiltrates into the material. Haven't used anything to clean it apart from the occasional wet wipe.I have the aubergine and I can't get any patina to show on it. Has a few dents and scratches because life happens, but no darkening or anything like that. The edges are a little shinier
Lately I’ve been scratching the back of my case to kinda loosen fhe leather up
Pretty! Here's my Sapphire Blue: 3 weeks in vs now (4 months). It's held up pretty well, sort of turns into a midnight blue, but brighter.

Has anyone noticed how the leather cases vary somewhat in the feel right out of the box? I have 2 saddle browns, one was more smooth feeling and shiny. The new one has more of slightly textured pebbly looking leather on it an not as shiny brand new. Was looking through some of the photos in this thread and noticed similar differences. I don’t mind. But curious if anyone else noticed?
