Wow, the colour on the LC and BS case are pretty much exactly the same! Can’t wait for mine to arrive.
I think the speaker grill issue is pretty much why BS choose a pill shaped design: to minimise return rate lol
People will be livid if their $100 case arrived with a misaligned speaker grill.
The likes of Andar, Bullstrap and Ryan London don’t make their letter cases, they get them manufactured from most likely China. They either get the branding stamped at the factory or stamp in house.

Lucky coin is most likely selling factory direct.

I used to think the same.

However someone on here said they have seen RL trimming the cases in their shop.

BS and Andar, who knows.

I have an Andar phone and airpods case and I can definitely tell they have done the trimming on the airpods case.

RL doesn’t trim cases in the shop, they outsource to China.

Got my Nomad English Tan today. It actually like how it feels in hand a lot more than I thought I would. The photos make it look a lot chunkier than it is so I'm pleased by that. The sides are way better than expected too and make it so much easier to pick the phone up off a surface than my old Keyway which used to slip in my fingers a bit unless I squeezed it tight before picking it up. The leather is the best smelling of all the leather cases I've had which was a nice perk too.

My only complaint is that the magsafe is not as strong as the Keyway and it appears that Nomad doesn't use the alignment magnet.

Overall though I do feel like I'm less like to drop this case as it feels much safer in hand. The magnet I'll learn to live with as its not a major deal breaker for me, I just wish it was there to keep the wallet locked in place a little better.

Maybe trim but they don’t manufacture the open bottom.

Well, they wrap the leather around the plastic shell… so other than buying in the shells, I’ve seen them first hand apply the glue, the leather, trim it and emboss it.

They don’t at least for the open bottom. I asked RL and that’s what they told me. They don’t make in house and it’s outsourced to a factory in China.

Okay… my own eyes must be lying to me then as well as their own website.

The fact they use their own sourced leather and trim it to a plastic shell themselves is effectively what I meant.

They’re obviously not going to make their their own plastic shells.

I struggle to believe they would say that their leather cases that they sell for £55 a pop aren’t theirs and they’re outsourced to China. The shells they trim to, I can.

No way would they divulge that kinda information (if the complete cases were bought in from China) to Joe Bloggs on the internet/on the street.

The bullstrap & Ryan London open bottom camera “lip” is designed that way to not only offer the best protection but for comfort. The fact it goes right to the edge of the case and is blended in, makes it a lot more comfortable.

not to me , the left sienna sample case a few posts above does not feel uncomfortable whatsoever. and while slightly less protective, it still is taller than the camera lens

but to each their own!

yeah no way a stiff piece of leather along the Bottom is as comfortable as a closed leather case

I also think its just the way my Aliexpress case (YNW iirc) is cut but there's a gap between where the cutout begins and the glass protruding camera square bump ends (ie I can see the edge of that square, and there's a gap where dust collects). Not the case with my cheap Sienna sample unit

Overall though I do feel like I'm less like to drop this case as it feels much safer in hand. The magnet I'll learn to live with as its not a major deal breaker for me, I just wish it was there to keep the wallet locked in place a little better.
Would love to see some pics.

I use an apple leather wallet with my Nomad case and honestly it sticks on pretty good.

Thats what I use too. I think it might be because the leather is new and still a bit slippery. I'm suspecting that in a few days when it starts to get grippy that things will improve.

Yeah for sure. After some time it sticks on really well.

To your point about the sides, I have a 15 Pro Max and it’s yet to slip out of my hand while picking it up in the Nomad case. I tried an Apple Finewovem case when it first came out and that was my biggest problem. The phone would literally slip out of my hand while trying to pick it up a few times a day.
