A few people have been buying them on eBay, Aliexpress etc and no one is receiving them...I think around 2 of the 100's have had them so far!

I've ordered one from a UK based seller here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181786119...49&var=480728995301&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I'm hoping to have it by Tuesday/Wednesday so I can report on the quality, I think the main comments are whether the magnets hold up. I'm hoping it will be decent, I have a 38mm and love the leather loop, I would have just paid the money for one if Apple did it for both sizes o_O

That's quite a hefty price for a knockoff. The quality better be good!

Yeah it's not ideal but as I said before, I would have coughed up the RRP for one had Apple made a 38mm version. If this guy was based in China, it would be a different story, I've got 14 days returns so fingers crossed it holds up!

from what I've seen on taobao in china, don't expect it to fit seamlessly at the connector - it'll probably not be wide enough and leave a tiny gap. every single seller i've seen has put, don't buy this if you're OCD! it's not designed to be flush, apparently.

There a couple people in the Third Party Band thread who have received theirs. Couple complaints, the fit is a little off, either too short where it connects or too long, but the biggest complaint is the magnet is not very strong. I have the Apple LL, and a couple times it has caught on things and came loose. I can't imagine if this had happened with one with the weak magnets.

Has anyone purchased any if the third party leather loop band yet?. I see Mycell on Amazon is selling them and also a bunch on eBay. Waiting on reviews to see if I will buy one. Need to know strength of magnets and quality of leather and band. Of course the connection to the watch is important. How the adapter fits.

Look in the Non-OEM (Knockoff) thread. There are 2 people who have received them, neither is 100% satisfied.

I posted pics and gave feedback on my red one....after about 2 weeks, still loving it! It is holding up fine, and the magnets work well enough. The red color is exactly what I wanted in the first place, and I am surprised Apple did not sell a product red leather loop or sport band? But I would buy another in a heartbeat...the problem lies in the reliability of the shipping / seller. I will get the beige one when they make it to a U.S. Seller

Have you ordered the one from SIKAI?
I ordered this one: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Pers...-Watchband-With-Magnetic-For/32335285909.html

Got my fingers crossed, hoping it will be good quality

Some seriously bad Photoshopped images on that site. I'd be very wary...

I know.
When the photo's or description does not meet what it is in reality, I can tell the seller, and if he does not give a decent solution, you can let aliexpress now, and they will handle it.

Been ordering for a year there, and is mostly a good experience so far.

Sure feels like real leather. I have a black and blue one bought from Apple, and they aren't that different.

EricE

You can mostly smell it as well hahaha

I'm still waiting for mine to be sent.

EDIT: Mine has been shipped now.
Now let's wait till it arrives.

The seller seems like a good guy, he is very friendly in chat, and when I asked why it takes two days before sending, he responded very quickly that he got a lot of orders and have to send them one by one.
He told me that he would be getting a new batch of bands within 3 days and would send mine as the first one when it arrives.
10 minutes later I got the confirmation that my band was shipped to me >_<

Seems to be a lot of sellers for the leather loop now. Can we assume they are all being sourced from the same factory? I would assume so. Or is there a specific seller we should be buying from?

Well, SIKAI is a pretty big name between all the Chinese brands.
They make all kinds of stuff, and it seems to be pretty decent stuff as well.
I have no idea if it makes any sense though, maybe different kind of brands came from the same factory.

Anyways, I think I will receive a decent band from SIKAI, heard good experiences from SIKAI stuff so far.
And Eric5964 got his band from SIKAI as well :)

I am deciding which Ebay seller to buy a 42mm Blue Leather loop from. There is the Sikai guy and the Utica guy. Sikai has it for 46.99 and the Utica guy has it for 58.81. A 12 US dollar difference. I have the real Apple Medium Black leather Loop Band and did some measurements on my own, just like the 3rd party bands show the length. My measurements for the 42mm are: Adapter ends: 34mm, Long band: around 180mm, pretty close. Short band length: around 50mm, could be 51mm. Ends: 22mm

I was looking at the dimensions from both sellers and the bands are a little different. The Sikai for the 42mm (the width of both ends of the adapter are 34mm, which seems right on. Long Band is 182mm, which is 2mm over. Short band length is listed at 61mm, which is 11mm over the Medium band. So it would be 13mm longer.

Now the Utica Guy for the 42mm. According to their listing: the width of both ends of the adapter are 33mm. If this is correct, the ends would be short inside the adapter slot, which wouldn't look that good. The Long Band length is the same as Sikai, 182mm. The Short Band length is 60mm, supposedly 1mm shorter than Sikai. My big problem with the Utica guy band is the 33mm width for the adapter. They are not open on the weekend so I can't get my answer if they measured wrong. I can't believe they would actually make it not wide enough for the adapter.

I does look as the Utica Guy use Yesoo to make the band and Sikai, I am not sure makes his bands.

Even for more money, I would order from someone in the U.S. because it would be easier to return than sending it back to China. I have also had good experience with this seller. But, if the ends for the adapter is cut too short, it will look ridiculous.

So what should I do? What would you do? Do I believe the dimensions they put up? Do I pay the extra 12 and if it is wrong, send it back?

99% chance that neither of them will fit perfectly (like the genuine apple one would) - every single listing for them i've seen in China since they appeared, shows the exact same message - don't buy if you're OCD, they won't fit flush at the ends.
